Indian Air Force Promo of Iron Fist 2016 to be held on 18 March 2016 in Pokhran.

At least 181 aircraft of the Indian Air Force will come together over Thar desert this month in a breathtaking aerial ballet during Exercise Iron Fist-2016 to showcase the force's combat capability across the entire spectrum of aerial operations.

Defence Attaches from various countries, except those of Pakistan and China, are scheduled to attend the event that will project India's deterrence power.

Live demonstration by IAF Garuds and special heliborne operations shall be a highlight of the proceedings that would take place both during day and night.

So a big IAF exercise after a long time near the Paki border but seriously we need to some better names for these exercises especially to give signals.

Pathetic Pakis don't even leave military exercise to target our faith and name it Saffron Bandit while their name for our post in siachen are Baniya Post and sadhu post.

W
e should do the same with them and instead of Iron fist, call it crescent crush.

I recently read a report that India is struggling to raise its Mountain Corps due to lack of funding. Is this true?

@Illusive gave the news. It had something to do with funding. I agree, we have deficiencies when it comes to deployment.

It's being worked on constantly and big strides are being made it has to be said.

The MSC is still 6-7 years away from being a reality, funding is an issue simply because the entire IA funding is an issue. That said, the M777 Ah-64E, follow-on 6 C-130J-30 and Ch-47F are all explictly for the MSC and have all been ordered (M777 will be very shortly).

The IAF need to step up their PR work, 85-90% of this video has been seen before, some of the footage is from civlian projects (TV shows) and is >7 years old! Compare it to the IN's IFR 2016 videos. The IN must enjoy putting their sister services to shame in every area.

Any update on CDS reforms? And will they be any help?
CDS is ESSENTIAL, it will help in a whole manner of areas from procurement, joint service operational abilities and from practical/contingency purposes (ie nuclear command authority).

Parrikar had teased about CDS sometime last year but, like with much of what he says, nothing tangible has been seen.

Yeah! Still better then AK though, anyways let's hope. He has been good in policy reform though.

Let's face it, ANYONE would have been better than AK- that's setting the bar very low. When he left office the military was about 10-15 years behind of where it should have been as a direct result of his actions (of lack therof).

But yes, let's see how MP gets on, he seems to say the right and wrong things in equal part but hopefully his actions are solely benefical and in a few years the fruits are abundent. As of now, it is all hot air.
