Say, what if we pulled out of pakfa and collaborated with israel to develop amca as a 50-50, indo-israeli fighter. Look at the brighter side, there is a ready made aesa el-2052 to improve upon, indian fbw, until kaveri is ready working with ej-200 as a continuation of lca programme production. Of the prime problems associated with lca tejas 1.engine 2.radar 3.control system 4. Air-frame, apart from air-frame , all the others are finished, if programme proceeds with utmost priority, we can put amca to low rate production by 2020, that would be only a 5 year delay than f-35 for israel. Plus the fighter by any means would be the cheapest of all contemperory heavy twin-engined ones, might be as cheap as the gripen.

if israel want to join the indo russian fgfa project how do you think russia will allow it since israel is a long time ally of the us.plus we should also not involve israel in contributing to the mca project directly,but we can involve them in joint developement of aesa radar and other ew equipments that will go in the mca.

This seems like a better option and Even USA cannot oppose it openly . Inputs from Japan will be very valuable .

What day dreaming? Isn't Israel already part of most of our defence research projects . Radar that we are using in LCA thats also developed with help of Israel . Wether we declare it openly or not Israel but will be part of our AMCA Project .

Israel is selling UAV'S to Russia and India is Israel biggest arms buyer. This should not be an issue if Israel wants to do something independently?? USA has more or less kept Israel out of any plane development since they sold LAVI program to China.

DO you think Israel will sell these UAV to Russia without approval from America? Anyway they are not as capable as predators of USA and cannot carry weapons. Also You need to control only few critical technologies . Look what USA is doing. They sell any weapon only when they have a better version for themself .

Co-developing some systems is one thing and developing whole plane is another..
Since we are set to buy american engine then why not call them our partner in LCA...

I would be more than happy if Israel joins the project but who will satisfy the ego of HAL and DRDO officials..

USA did not cut off aid when Lavi program was sold to China. Lavi gave China insight into f 16's which all of Usa's allies have and the main warplane export for USA; it also helped china develop their own warplanes.

Infact it was USA that assisted China to get Lavi . USA was pro china at that time as they were expecting them to be a counter to USSR . Same goes with India now as they expect us to counter China. Thats the reason Israel is able to sell many cutting edge systems to us . Green pine is one of them . Now USA is opposing them as they want to sell their own systems to us .
