An interesting article that seems to reflect the confusion that is gripping the world over secularism and religiosity.

Very poignant statements and a clear reflection of the ground facts. As enticing as it might be seem to view it as such, multiculturalism's failure in Europe is not necessarily the failure of secularism, because fundamentally both the principles function of entirely different dynamics. When secularism evolved into a principal of political governance, nation states had already been established and taken roots. The political landscape in which Europe's nation states was organized revolved around common cultural units gravitating towards each other to form a finite and distinct politico-cultural spheres which later galvanized into modern nation states.the national space absorbed and adopted the attributes and characteristics of the the predominant cultural space.

Secularism was merely an internal dialogue,on principles of governance,of checks & balance, all within the confines of uni-cultural-nation state.Multiculturalism is bound to fail inspite of the principle of secularism, because it promotes confusion in the eventual evolution of a nation state, which in turn breeds anarchy and violence.
