    You mean lying? Maybe he slanted his statement to make it appear that UK will only pay £850m to EU. He was not entirely lying, as it appears that UK will indeed only shell out £850m from its bourse. The balance will be paid out in effect by the EU in behalf of UK though rebates that will be returned.

    Prevarication is the appropriate word. Politicians are good at that.
