LONDON: In what could raise the hackles of the Indians, former England fast bowler Darren Gough on Thursday said that Mahendra Singh Dhoni's men are champions only at home and England can beat them "every day of the week".

Gough said England were the best team in the world at the moment after their innings drubbing of Australia in the fourth Ashes Test, and India's performance in South Africa have nothing much to write about.

"For me, we're the best team in the world at this moment. I've watched the South Africa-India series and I see nothing to worry about. India are fantastic in their own country and have some great individuals but I'd fancy this England side to beat them every day of the week," Gough said.

Gough said the strength and depth in the England attack is such that the Three Lions will dominate world cricket for the foreseeable future.

"This team are the Golden Generation. They are the side that are going to dominate world cricket for the next few years. I don't know whether that is because we're better than everybody else in sight or because we have a top-class spinner and five bowlers who could start a Test, no problem.

"We now have so many options, especially in attack, and the reason this team is so dominant is because we have 16 players who could have started the first Test match," Gough was quoted as saying by 'Sun' tabloid.

He said Andrew Strauss' heroes deserve the same accolades as those in the 2005 Ashes side, who were awarded MBEs and enjoyed an open-top bus parade through London.

"Will this team get the same reception? Probably not. Do they deserve to? I would say yes."

Then Gough must remember that this time World Cup IS at team India's home. BTW the last time I heard someone say it.. who was it? Ah yes of course, Ricky Ponting. After that we had 3 continuous tours whether on their home ground or ours; the result was we thrashed them black and blue into oblivion and kicked them 4 ranks below what they were. :emot15:

South africa thought they would have india for breakfast lunch and dinner in kingsmead. It didn't happen and the opposite was true. India beat england in headingly the last time we toured. Cricket is a funny game. It can make you look silly. England is a good side and we may soon have a three way battle for the number one slot. But no side is going to steam roll the other as it was proved in durban.

He is on the seventh heaven after beating their arch-rivals, Australia but he don't remember that Aussies are not what they were some time back. Beating Aussies is like a "no-job" really. But beating India and that too by England, let them play us and results will be there for eveyone to see.
