Electronics and semiconductor body signs pact with Taiwan association

    MUMBAI, SEPT 11:
India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), a trade body representing the Indian electronic system design and manufacturing industry, has signed an agreement with Taiwan's Taipei Computer Association (TCA) to promote ESDM industry co-operation between the two countries.

Under the agreement, IESA will promote investments for India and set-up of the design and manufacturing ecosystem in the country. It will also help Taiwan-based companies to partner with the Indian ecosystem, IESA said in a statement.

“The ESDM landscape is evolving. Today, Taiwan wants to move ahead and invest in other countries. India is positioned among their priority destination, primarily due to its maturity of the market, availability of talents and the expertise India can bring to the ESDM supply chain with components like designing and embedded systems among others," M. N. Vidyashankar, President, IESA said.

“As we dream of IT Manufacturing in India, we should not forget to remember I-T collaboration to convert our dreams into reality," added Vidyashankar.

The India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) Thursday signed an agreement with Taipei Computer Association (TCA) to promote electronic system design and manufacturing (ESDM) industry cooperation between India and Taiwan, a statement said in New Delhi.

IESA is a trade body representing the Indian ESDM industry.

The agreement is part of the collaboration with TCA under which IESA will extend support to promote investments for India and set-up of the design and manufacturing ecosystem in the country, also helping the Taiwan-based companies to partner with the Indian ecosystem.

“The ESDM landscape is evolving. Today, Taiwan wants to move ahead and invest in other countries. India is positioned among their priority destination, primarily due to its maturity of the market, availability of talents and the expertise India can bring to the ESDM supply chain with components like designing, embedded system, VLSI etc,” M.N. Vidyashankar, IESA president, said.

“We consume IT as Information Technology, but it’s time to define IT as India-Taiwan as well. As we dream of IT Manufacturing in India, we should not forget to remember I-T collaboration to convert our dreams into reality,” he said.

IESA has also signed an agreement with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Bangalore chapter, to promote start-ups and entrepreneurs in fabless semiconductor and electronic products with initial focus on the Internet of Things space.
