Missiles fired by unmanned US drones in Babargarh area at the border region between South and North Waziristan tribal regions killed 17 persons on Sunday.

Four unmanned drones fired ten missiles at three houses near the Pak-Afghan border region killing 17 people unnamed security officials said while talking to Dawn.com.

The suspected hideouts were completely destroyed in the attacks.

The hideouts belonged to Qari Imran, a militant commander believed to be affiliated with the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group, who was the target of the attacks.

Other commanders were also suspected to have been killed in the strikes.

After targeting Maulvi Nazir, US is going after Gul Bahadur. It seems US is bent up on wiping off the 'good taliban' while leaving 'bad taliban' intact. :D

More bad days for Pakistani Army.

Very interesting developments in the past few days.

Is the good Taliban being taken out as a part of some negotiations tactics that the Americans are forcing on Pakistan. I suspect, yes!

And this could well be just one tactic, Pakistan could be arm twisted in many more ways far more easily.

This also could be an indicator that India has placed itself in a much better position than it found itself in 2009-10 when Pakistan was literally having it's way, and India was to be significantly sidelined. Too much greed can easily undo a lot of good and the Raymond Davis issue, OBL to be found in Abbottabad and Salala incident have very well played into our hands, and if by chance, though Pakistan can just not afford it any more, the taking out of "good Taliban" becomes another flash point between the US and Pakistan, Pakistan would then have completely lost the plot on Afghanistan end-game, and India could well be calling the shots in a very significant manner.

Possibly India could be a part of the plan, a little needling here and there, if so, very well indeed because if our two countries, India and the US, are coordinating on Pakistan as overtly, there couldn't be a better news,

Just because militants cut a deal not to attack Pakistan does not mean we wont kill them if they are attacking US troops in Afganstan. I notice that USA put a 10 million on the head of the man thought responsible for the Mumbia attacks, you would have thought India would have already done that. Rewards for Justice-main - english
