Anvesha may a Radar...............
Standoff Anti-tank Guided Missile (SANT) is the MALE-UAV launched version of the HELINA. .

CLGM is the 120mm ant-helicopter laser-guided missile for use from Arjun MBTs. Its infantry-launched version is called SAMHO but it has been rejected by the IA. The CLGM is not an ATGM, but more like the Russian INVAR anti-helicopter projectile.

MPATGM is 3rd-generation also carries the name AMOGHA-1 given by BDL.

SMART is exactly like the Novator 91RE1 and 91RTE2 are anti-submarine missiles.

ANVESHA is the TD project name for developing a MMW seeker-equipped version of the HELINA:

If successful, it will also be developed as the naval NASM.

RudraM-II & RudraM-II refer to efforts by the DRDO to arm the Rudra helicopter gunships with A) 20-barrel B-8M-1 pods for firing 80mm S-8 & 122mm unguided rockets; & B) five-barrel B-13L pods that can fire S-13 unguided rockets. These pods & rockets are available in mlarge numbers with the IAF since they are also used by MiG-21s & Mi-25/Mi-35 attack helicopters. Such rockets can be used for rendering immediate air-support at standoff distances ranging from 1.5km till 4km.

Dhruvastra is the fire-control system for the HELINA that can be fired from twin-tube & quad-tube launchers.

I doubt that. CLGM and SAMHO (infantry launched version of CLGM) is both ATGM and a SAM for helicopters.
And I don't think SAMHO has been rejected. Also remember that it can be launched from the existing jeep-mounted launchers of Army. See:-

This missile will replace Konkurs missile in service with Indian Infantry. These will arm the long-range ATGM platoons that exist in every infantry and mountain infantry battalion. Long-range ATGM platoons will then also become able to engage airborne targets like tactical drones and helos.

MPATGM will replace Milan 2T missile that arms the short-range ATGM platoons that also exist in every infantry and mountain infantry batallion of Army.

Long-ranged ATGM platoon are tasked with hitting targets in the 4km range. This will increase to 5 km with SAMHO.
Short-range ATGM platoon are tasked with hitting targets in the 2 km range.

MPATGM and SMAHO will represent a quantum jump in firepower as it will give added (limited) MANPAD capability and also benefit from being fire-and-forget missiles as opposed to the SALCOS currently in use. The biggest advantage, however, is that these missiles will be indigenous.
The downside is that these missiles will be a little heavier than existing missiles.

CLGM is superior to LAHAT in guidance system.

This info must be from Psk

It ain't trustworthy , he shoots a lot in the dark.

AMOGHA-1 by BDL is upgraded Milan , I once posted a pic about it here

If SANT is purpose built UAV launched missile then why was it undergoing captive trials on mi35 ?

If Rudra 2 & 3 is simply certification and qualification of existing Russian rocket pods on Rudra helicopters , why is the cost of both projects so high at 489 and 485 crores respectively, while new missile systems like naval anti ship short range missile or SMART have considerably lower project costs ?

Also why Rudra 1 and 2 are under technology demonstration project tab unless both are completely new systems.

Give a though and decide yourself.

I believe Rudra 1 and Rudra 2 stands for anti radiation missile developed by DRDO

From br forum , quote from a tender document.

(The download link has now expired)

Assistance is required for assembly and testing of Rudra M-II SAM units for PF warhead and PCB warhead. Total quantity of SAM units is 100 Nos. (50 each for PF and PCB Warhead) As the quantity of SAM units is more and has multiple sub-assemblies, the assistance is required during the preparation of SAM units for various tests.

So what does this tell you ?

It means it is a new missile system not some retrofitting of Russian rockets onto Rudra helicopter.

Though there is confusion regarding whether Rudra 2 is a ASM or SAM , because PCB and PF warheads are used for striking ground targets. So it should be a ASM and SAM means something else rather than surface to air missile.

What I like is....

DRDO's Directed Energy Weapon (DEW) Program & LASTEC's Aditya Project

DRDO's CHESS (Center for High Energy Systems and Science), Hyderabad is developing Directed Energy Weapon (DEW) systems for use by the Indian Armed Forces (AFs).

Laser Science and Technology Center (LASTEC) is developing laser source technologies for Directed Energy Weapon (DEW), as also for dazzling and imaging applications.

LASTEC Capability Development

LASTEC has developed core technologies including Gas Dynamic Laser (GDL) and Chemical Oxygen Iodine Lasers (COIL) and demonstrated 100 kW (multi mode) GDL and 20 kW (single mode) COIL sources.

LASTEC's Aditya Gas Dynamic High Power Laser based Directed Energy System

LASTEC's Aditya project was an experimental test bed to seed the critical DEW technologies. The Gas Dynamic High Power laser based Directed Energy System can be broadly divided into two major subsystems:

  1. Laser Power Source
  2. Beam Delivery System

The Laser beam used in a DEW is subject to attenuation (loss of intensity) due to atmospheric air and jitter due to the turbulence within the atmospheric air. The damage caused by the beam progressively reduces with target distance.

In order to cause the stipulated damages at 0.8 km and 2.5 km distance using a 0.7 m aperture telescope, laser power of the order of 100 kW is required . The beam delivery system has to simultaneously perform several roles. It acquires and tracks the distant static and moving target in real time and points and focuses the laser beam on the target. The adaptive optical system has to compensate for the jitter and wave front distortion of the laser beam from the source.

The technology related to laser source, beam delivery and issues related to system integration on mobile platforms were addressed during the execution of the Aditya project which will provide useful input to future laser weapon programs of DRDO

If we can graduate to shooting down missiles and high speed aircraft with beams of direct energy/Lasers at long ranges of >10km in all weather conditions, it would be a quantum jump to next gen warfare.

The range should at least be equal to Akash than only it will have the real use else it will have very limited usage.

Can’t wait for the day when we start using this to blow porki arty and mortar shells out of the sky. We can then turn on the heat real high on them without worrying about retaliatory damage to our citizens.
