It will be in very thing from, missiles, smart and dumb bombs, tanks, aircrafts, heli, jeep, trucks, BMP, ships, even FINSAS. It is cool.
Hmmm but it still depends on GPS right?ISRO and DRDO should focuss on getting IRNSS working and ready soon.
I think it's a very late break through, this technology is a decade old. Any how congrats. There is already GPS & Glonass integrated systems which are available in the market. Only break through is GAGAN SBAS is integrated. But it will only be useful with a limited range using GAGAN then we have to relay on GPS and GLONASS system.
As far as our threat perception is concerned, IRNSS will cover important region . Is it true that IRNSS will be integrqted with GLONASS.
Nope. IRNSS will be a constellation of 7 satellites independent of GPS or GLONASS. It only caters to Indian area of interest and does not cover the entire world.
That I know, but India did talk about using GLONASS.
you need to own satellites first to have that tech, which means you need to send all those satellites up. We have dont his in cheapest possible manner, with our limited resources.
I think best thing about this is to have more then one source for reliable data.
hearty congratulations to drdo and bengaluru firm who developed this. piece by piece indian weapons are getting localized. if things go on like this very soon india wont be having any restrictions and limitations in its foreign dealing and could even offer others made-in-india weapon system

It cannot be integrated together, Nav engine will be running both signals from the IRNSS and GLONASS parallel, so that there is a redundancy for the user. I'm not sure about IRNSS, but GLONASS every satellite has it's own frequency and they are polar orbiting satellite. there are different type of corrections available for GLONASS world wide with a accuracy of 15 to 20 cm. If we can get the precise code from the GLONASS, which is only available for Russian military then it will be a great achievement.
