The variety and range of projects that DRDO takes up is truly astounding and mind boggling and makes me speech less to say the least. At that rate we should be a super power…But alas..

Many of them are like the hovercraft project that Kalam tookup that he wrote in his book “Wings of Fire”..What’s the need for it and where is it now? Are they in production or being used by Navy or coast guard?

Aren’t they better off focusing time ,energy and attention on more pressing needs. What’s the use of this setup if they fail to equip security agencies with the basic of their basic needs (Haven’t we seen riot police wearing a make make shift cricket helmet instead of a proper one? This example may be wrong)

Not sure if we need to be happy or sad looking at the huge list of items DRDO takes up… Let’s sincerely hope it does not go the hovercraft way

@anoop, that test was made in night and what was most strange was the fact that MMS was in US during that time, to get support from new administration for the 123 nuclear deal.

now what is official line is it was BDL product and due to some poor quality it failed. DRDO people were just supervising IA for this test. further more IA did not lose any time even before all the test data was to arrive they declare it failed test.

What is the fact of matter is things dont add up.

You mean there was a conspiracy to make it fail !!

Won 't the read-time trajectory not enough for Army to conclude if the missile reached its target or not? May be DRDO need time to analyze data from all the sensors but for end-users if the missile did not reach the traget area the test is fail

can anybody tell me what was reason behind failed night trial of Agni II
No one will give an answer as its related to defence. They are saying it's because of some poor quality component which was not detected during QC process etc..

BTW there is a new version of this missile which is road-mobile
