Don't give mobile phones to girls, it distracts them: BSP MP

MUZAFFARNAGAR: A BSP MP has kicked off a controversy by saying that girls should not be given mobile phones.
"Don't give mobile phones to children, especially girls. I say thisat all the places where I make myspeeches. And if any of these kids have a mobile, take them away. What are they missing anyway? What are the girls missing without mobile," Rajya Sabha MP Rajpal Singh Saini said.
"Our mothers, sisters... did they die if there were no mobiles during their time," he said addressing party workers here on Sunday night.
Saini also reportedly conveyed this view to a man who sought his help after his daughter had eloped.
The BSP leader told him that the mobile phone was the main cause behind his daughter's elopement.
The BSP leader's comments comemonths after a panchayat in Baghpat had banned love marriages and barred women below 40 from going out for shopping and using mobile phones outside their homes.

Yesterday they said education is destroying girls.
Today they say mobile is destroying girls.
Tomorrow they will say that don't let a girl be born.

Do you want them to hate technology ??

Btw, children shouldn't be given mobile.Let them study 1st, then let the parents decide when should they give mobile to them. Mobile is ruining study and that's a big fact.

But intentions of this MP is different and I disagree with him.

I wonder if he is as primitive as the hillbillies of the US.

Weird guy this MLA, reminds me of the archaic ways of the Mormons.

Or he must have been living it with the Amish people, who are reluctance to adopt many conveniences of modern technology and are said to be among the fastest-growing populations in the world, with an average of seven children per family.

Most Amish cultivate their fields with horse-drawn machinery, live in houses without electricity, and get around in horse-drawn buggies. It is common for Amish communities to allow the use of telephones, but not in the home. Instead, several Amish families will share a telephone in a wooden shanty between farms.

I would say that there are all sorts who make up a Nation, be it the first or the last world.

Stereotyping these days can lead to faulty deductions!

    True.

Imagine that while Maoism rages in other parts of the country, it has been tamed in WB!

    Sheer use of intelligence.

Imagine she has stolen the thunder from the BJP against FDI. She has openly announced tabling a motion against FDI!!

But of course, if you are batting from the BSP chap who feels that mobiles should not be given to women, who am I to comment on your wisdom?

    Not really brownies.

It is a fact on the ground.

Thank you for the offer to catch up with UP, but with all due regards, there is nothing out there that is so brilliantly outstanding. One would surely shy away from such people's example as to those who advocate to the MPs and others to steal the coffers.
And the best part is that you don't even have the Maoists to create the law and order stuff out there in this wonderous state called UP.

Fantastic stuff like the Khaps and the MLAs who are law by themselves so much so there is no requirement for any other central Law to function!

What is the latest of the Medical Officer who has been kidnapped for not listening to the MLA or was it the MP?

  17. Ofcourse not , the Brlliiance of didi outshines all

You think there would be any dearth of such cases coming from WB if one had to enter a mudslinging contest ?

I choose to refrain in any case, with all due respect to your seniority sir ,

b t w Coming back to the issue which is related to the thread topic

Don't give mobile phones to girls, it distracts them -- Says the Opposition MP from the crime epicentre of UP

Rapes happen because men and women interact freely -- Says the Hon'be Chief Minister of West Bengal

    I rest my case .

Sure that sentence read in isolation appears rather silly.

But in the context of her speech she was trying to put across with that statement and others that the permissive attitude that is creeping into society without concern for the necessity of a social order is what is leading to rapes and other deviation.

I daresay, it requires intelligence and some education on psychology and sociology to understand that.

However, would that give any sound bytes or print space if the speech was reported in that context! No.

But the single sentence - Rapes happen because men and women interact freely does titillate the sensation hungry who pick it up like carrions on the wing!

I thought it was the Monarch who called the subjects as my people.

But then in UP, I take it each is a Monarch of his own!

And of course Little Lord Fauntleroys.

No, I don't bat for Mamata.

My posts bear witness and it is only those who are selective fail to notice.

Bengal is no land of milk and honey and all know that.

But we are fortunate that till now, our leaders are not held at ransom by the CBI to salvage the Union Govts of the day.

Grant this much to Mamata Bannerjee, she is steadfast in what she says and is ready to lose power that she had in the Centre through her Ministers rather than knowtow or obfuscate as is being seen on the FDI by the UP leaders, both in the Chair and in the Opposition.

They are against the FDI, but they are fine with the Centre!

Mamata Bannerjee, not that she is some great leader, has to be given what is her due - she does not waver from her stated principles, even if to many it appears weird and oddly out of synch.

Wow , These Posts really do bear glaring witness to the fact that you are N.O.T batting for Mamta ,

    Nope, not at all !

My doubts are now dispelled , and i can see clearly how silly it was of me to think you were defending Mamata

    :hail:

    Good God !

    Yes i beat my retreat

That's very kind of you sir,

Didnt Little Cedric in conclusion end up teaching his elderly grandfather , the Earl, a thing or two about respect for others and compassion

Very considerate of you to choose such a befitting example ,

I am overwhelmed at the hint

Very subtle sir, Very appropriate too.

I take it as a compliment . Thank you.
