Dog, aptly named “Trigger”

Here is an interesting true story about a dog named “Trigger.” He has been prophetically names so. He accompanied his owner on a hunting trip, accidentally stepped on his owner’s shotgun, and shot the owner in the foot. In other words, Trigger triggered the trigger and shot his owner.

CNN says:

Sometimes you have to hunt for a good story. Other times it does the hunting for you.

Allie Carter was hunting with her dog Trigger in northern Indiana over the weekend when she became the object of an international punch line.

The 25-year-old laid her 12-gauge shotgun on the ground. The safety was off. Her 10-year-old chocolate lab did the rest.

The good news is, the owner was not seriously injured. Of course, one must not blame the dog. It certainly did not do it consciously.
CNN says:

A local hunter said don’t blame the dog.

This was also reported by BBC, that also posted a picture, apparently of some dog from a file picture. The dog in the picture seems to have a guilty feeling about some episode.
