Digvijaya likens Modi to demon king Ravana - The Times of India

AHMEDABAD: After sympathizing with Sanjay Joshi following his "forced" exit from BJP, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has likened Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi to demon king Ravan, asking him to shun vanity.

"If you see Ravan, he also had a good track record of development, he had made Lanka of gold. But what end he met (becapride and ego everybody knows," Digvijaya Singh said on a question of Modi being projected as 'Vikas Purush'.

"In the same way Modiji should somewhat understand these things," Singh said in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

PS : I dint know whether this should have been posted in the Jokes thread, but anyway :heh:

Not that I am a fan of Modi, but Digvijay makes everything appear as being clownish and ruins the import of the issue.

He has become a icon of lunatic rantings.

    He is a clown!

How is Sanjay Joshi now a paragon of virtues as far as the Congress goes.

A drowning clot is this Digvijay, clutching straws!

But this rat is will be ready to scurry off and desert the sinking ship.

On a side note, atleast the moron agrees that Modi has brought development, unlike the paid media, which does all its shit to say that Gujarat's growth story is bogus:taunt1:

Ravana was supposed to be a paragon of virtues, a scholar par excellence - one who was a master in all the 64 arts, and the most devout bhakth of Lord Shiva...

Not bad to be compared with him...:hmm:

Unlike you I do not have biases.

Given the current situation where we are squeezed and where we are failing, I regret that I am not enamoured with the way we are being governed.

    Are you?

So, not being enamoured with the present system of governance where the PM is made to appear impotent and where silly populism drives the nation to bankruptcy is being a fan of Modi, indicates that you require an urgent sitting with your shrink!

This country is way out and one cannot understand what is up.

Modi is accused of genocide and yet wins all elections.

Akalis embrace terrorists and still governs.

The Congress shows pseudo Muslim love and are rejected (Ms Khurshed losing).

Mamata blackmails the Govt and still continues her game.

Alleged crooks carry out scam after scam and nothing happens.

Pakistan sends terrorist and recruits Indian Moslems and Digvijay Singh of the Congress and close confident of the Prince Rahul sings paeans to them.

Mickey Manmohan does not care how many died in Mumbai in this pursuit for peace with Pakistan and the Nobel Prize.

Sonia Gandhi churns out populist scheme with the coffers already empty and which will lead India to be a failed State.

So, who do you think can be supported?

I dont know, but from what I can make out, there is no difference between the Devas and the Asuras in their behavior. Both of them were shit bags, But i dont know why the Asuras were alone demonised in the stories. For instance, we all know about the story of the Indira going and making out with the Rishi's wife in the disguise of Rishi and all . So then how come that fellow was considered very good/light et al?

Chief, I was being sarcastic. We have run out of choices of good leaders. All I can hope for is that the few good men left in this country stop criticizing politicians and join politics instead and be moral politicians and show the youth of this nation a way to a prosperous future.

    Join Politics?

Why are you churning out a false fib?

Can anyone win an election without money and muscle power?

Even a person with political support of the Congress, Manmohan Singh, could not win an election.

Live in the reality of real India!

I would rather fight than give up. When I am ready I will. Joining politics is a sacrifice (apparently not in India). Not everyone is willing to make that sacrifice.

This is the best post of the thread.

Ravana was not at all a demon, but much more exalted than Rama. He wanted to be slayed by Rama. As a matter of fact, Rama was even inferior to Hanuman, when to came to warfare or knowledge. Also, Ravana was the great grandson of Brahma. The Ramayana clearly shows how on many occasions Rama et al. used treachery to win battles and win over situations (e.g. Mahiravan Vadh).

If someone is compared to Ravana, it is actually a good thing.

But, wasn't Ravana a Brahmin? So how come he was an Aryan?

    Anyway, that was just rhetoric.

Have the Aryans indeed shown Ravana as a villain? As far as I understand, Ramayana was predicted before it actually happened, by none other than Valmiki. Ramayana also explicitly shows the virtue of Ravana. Valmiki was no Dravidian.

Perhaps it was some mischief played by the westerners who translated and made a mess of texts?

British propaganda to divide Indians, Ravana was a Brahman with asura(demonic) tendencies.

Don't know where the aryan-dravidian BS comes from...
