Delhi civic polls: BJP moves towards victory - Politics - Politics News - ibnlive
Of the declared results so far
BJP -- 79 ( Down 19)
Congress-- 42 (+19)
The last time around BJP had drubbed Congress. this time it appears to be a closer race.
In East Delhi, BJP seems to have lost the most. the race is almost neck to neck. This area is predominantly immigrant population from UP/Bihar.
AS per ZEE News,
North Delhi 104 Seats
South Delhi 104
These are trends.
East Delhi 64
BJP will capture all 3 MCD (North, South and East Delhi). Despite of ruling for 5 years, BJP was able to beat Anti-Incumbency!!
MCD polls: BJP heads for big win, Congress falls behind
I would be surprised if Congress won in any of the corporations. Delhi after all was the centre of the Anna Hazare anti-Corruption campaign.
Hahaha. There is no impact of Anna in Delhi or anywhere. BJP winning because of Good Performance, Strong Cadres at local levels and mamooth corruption of Sheila Dixit Government !!
BJP captured half of the cities (Local bodies) in India. Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Bangalore, Patna, Lucknow, Bhopal, Indore, Surat, Chandigarh (no. 1), Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Ranchi, Raipur......and so on.
This was a very strange election. At no level was there any wave towards a particular party. Also the split of MCD in three parts also muddied the water.
However one thing that is there today, what I feel is that people are fed up with the current Govt. Expectations are high and the Govt. is not delivering. BJP winning in East Delhi is a big surprise as Sandeep Dixit, the son of the CM and the local MP had done a very good job in his area.
True. I expected BJP to win South/North but didn't expected to win East Delhi. Surprisingly, BJP winning many difficult seat in East. 2 heavyweight Congress Leaders constituency Naseeb Singh and Walia losing most of the seats in their area which they were holding for 2 decades.
Now, it's highly like that BJP will win all 3 region (North, South and East). North and East already done. South, BJP may need some support from Independent which are in large numbers.
Congratz to BJP...:thumb:
Which might include the illegal Bangladeshis too...No ?
Illegal Bangladeshi are everywhere and not concentrated in East Delhi only. Although, Large no. of migrants from UP/Bihar are living in East Delhi. (25%+). But Congress lost/losing 16 of it's stronghold seats. It's East Delhi mayor candidate is trailing .
BJP won my constituency. Also, BJP won/winning All 3 seats surrounding my seat!!
BJP is going for a thumping majority.........
Nice to see this in the Capital of INDIA. Soon they will get to the Government at the Center in this same style..........
ALL THE BEST..........
Sesha, last time BJP won almost 3/4th of the seats in the MCD elections but lost miserably in the Assembly and LS elections that followed.
In Gujarat BJP leading in all Three Municipal Elections.
Out of India's top ten cities by GDP, BJP is in power in six of them & Congress in power in one (Hyderabad)
That was general trend everywhere in the country. BJP Lost most of the states in 2009 election including it's stronghold MP, Uttrakhand, Gujarat, Rajasthan, etc.
Today, There is an Anti congress feeling, but is BJP ready to get the votes to their side or will it go to third front. So, Congress will lose but BJP success will depend on it's strength and it's work to capitulate the failure of Cong!! BJP needs to be aggressive and work on positive vote and strategy!!
Galaxy, I am seeing a third front coming to power in the next elections. Both BJP and Congress are getting weaker in states. We will be in for some instability.
In South Delhi, Independent + BSP + Others are at SECOND Number!!
Total : 104
Ind/Others : 30
To be very frank, I am not happy with BJP strategy. They are wasting time to capitulate to inroads Congress strength. Party lacks conviction and confidence. They need to project strong leader as PM candidate and also need to be more aggressive!!
Easy BJP win is changing into 3rd Front or BJP(NDA) equally in 2013/14 general election!!
Sheila Dixit splitted MCD hoping she can win in at least East Delhi where she and her son are supposedly having influence. Alas! Congress faced worst defeat in East Delhi!!
Separate names with a comma.
