I think you meant Persians and Romans ? They emerged even stronger with their new religious identities

(This could derail the thread...)
They could appropriate the religions for their goals. They got the first rights to it. But unfortunately the only religion that India could appropriate in a practical sense is Hinduism. The rest three are just in the fringes.. Sikhs - restricted to just one medium sized state where also they are only 60% of the population, the Jains - hopelessly assimilated into Hinduism, and Buddhism - again amongst the fringes of the country.

While I've been a supporter for Buddhism...lets be practical. China or even the West has much more control over it than us.

True...When the world thinks of Buddhism it thinks of HH Dalai Lama and not India. But when its Hinduism, one of the first thing that comes to mind is India.

Why try to build a non-existant thing from ground up, when we already have a pan-Indian semi-constructed structure that only needs some refinements ?

Hindutva should take a leaf from the Zionist experience, we should work towards creating a highly literate and wealthy community. Some points which can be a template are as follows:

First and the most pressing goal to work towards is Hindu Unity.
Ending social and cultural backwardness within the community.
Gender Equality.
Education and Spreading 100% literacy.
Creation of educational institutes for Hindu Community,(Colleges, University's, Schools etc). .
Attainment high economic and cultural stature.
Charity and encourage social service.
Research and Development of scholar class, (creation of think tanks, study groups etc).
And last but not the least formation of a unified and dedicated missionary movement to spread Hinduism and its culture in and outside Indian boarders. :dharma:

Hindutva is just fine the way it is. Interpret it however you like, but our interpretation of it would not change its definition. What we need people to do is understand Hindutva and implement it in daily life, not re-interpret and re-evaluate its definitions and boundaries. You know who does that? Muddleheads. That never try to understand it, nor does it ever come in the domain of their comprehension.

Hence they try and redefine it.
