Even in 2009, on the internet it seemed BJP will win the elections but it suffered a massive defeat. It seemed as though bjp's actual support base is inversely proportional to their internet base.

Even in 2012 assembly election in UP, Every media channel and Congress supporters were saying Congress will win huge seats but faced humiliating defeat and then ended with 0 in recent mayor election.

Netizen were saying communal Shiv-Sena+BJP will lose Mumbai election easily after 15 years of anti-Incumbency. Still won for 4th time even when MNS divided it's vote and NCP-Cong fought together ?

Internet users are not even 5% in Chattisgarh, MP, Jharkhand, Bihar Still BJP won election after election for last 10 years ?

    Making judgement on Internet ?

In fact, Congress won 2009 election due to Urban voters which are shifting to BJP!

Yeah but this time, it is not the Internet Hindus and the pollsters who are saying it, it is the actual voting patterns emerging over the last 12 months or so from bye elections to state assembly elections to local elections which seem to be telling the tale.

To me all our political parties are communal. Everyone uses religion at one point or the other to get votes. I think the talk of "secularism" should be dropped from discussions until and unless our government becomes truly secular by having uniform laws for all citizens irrespective of their religion.

What ever one group of religion gets, give the same to all others also, no more- no less. No matter what.

One law for all. All should be treated equally as a citizen of the country.

After having equal rights for all, then we can say, yes now India is secular.

    Not before that.

True secularism doesn't try to appease all religions. It doesn't cater religions at all.

How can Govt or any party be secular in county like India?

Ordinary Indians are secular in their aspirations to grow, that is what matters. Rest all this secularism BS on mainstream electronic/print media is good for political activists to earn their bread.

We don't need shiny definitions or therapy sessions on secularism.

People make nation, not the political parties. And if we weren't secular, India would have broken down long before.
