Days of depending on US are over, says Pakistan PM

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said the days of Islamabads dependence on Washington to meet its military requirements have ended.

In an interview to Arab News, published on Monday, the Prime Minister said the world should recognise Pakistan's efforts in fighting the "world's war" on terror. "If one source dries up, we have no option but to go to another source. It may cost more, it may consume more resources, but we have to fight that war, and that's what we emphasised to all the people that we met."

"We have major US weapons systems in our military, but we've also diversified (our arsenal). We have Chinese and European systems. Recently, for the first time we inducted Russian attack helicopters," Abbasi said.

Responding to a question, the Prime Minister said that US' newly devised policy to include India for peace-building in Afghanistan will be detrimental for the region.

"We don't believe that injecting India into the Pakistan-US relationship will help resolve anything, especially in Afghanistan, where we don't see any role for India. India has a relationship with the US, and that is between them and the US," Abbasi said.

He added that Pakistan wants an "equal relationship or partnership with the US, like every other nation" and wants to work with Washington in resolving regional and global issues ranging from the "economy to nuclear matters".

He said that in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly and side meetings, he stressed that nobody wants peace in Afghanistan more than Pakistan.

"We're partners in the war on terror, and that's what we emphasised. We emphasised to everybody we met (at the UNGA) that nobody wants peace in Afghanistan more than Pakistan".

Abbasi said that in the recently held meeting between Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Asif told his counterpart that Islamabad pursues a zero-tolerance approach to "all terrorist and militant groups".

He called his meeting with US Vice President Mike Pence, "very constructive".

"There was no meeting scheduled (with President Trump). In fact, the meeting with Vice President Pence wasn't scheduled (either). It was at their request," the Prime Minister said.

Lol!! Who are these Porkis to dictate terms? This is between us, the US and Afghanistan. They should stop poking their radical Islamist noses in others affairs. A failed Porkistan needs to STFU. Anyway, no one cares a fuk for them anymore. It's no more a nation now but just a geographical entity.

A decade back they could not wait to involve India in Pakistan-US dialog. Pakistanis are asking for de-hyphenation, what timeline is this?

Pakis risk to the israel is becoming ever clear and present. such a notion of even slight imagination is a risk. such a notion being tolerated gives impetus for others (might not be now) to openly "think" and even "do" the same like the pakis.

The pakis and north korea and in value PRC have openly stated that pakis can target and threaten israel.

the pakis have through the past and current and future openly declared by action and means they threaten israel.

the pakis at the heart understood the usa relationship kept them safe.

the pakis at the heart know now what is ahead.

the pakis knew this the day they openly started looking to west towards mecca.

the pakis ought to ask the americans "why you allowed us" not "it is because of you". extremely different statements and forms of questions and answers to the same.

what can pak do? Ask the paki terrorists to stop attacking Afghan? Thats the only conrtibution pak can do in Afghan

Ironically, the more Afghan becomes strong the more paki terrorists and ISI stooges will be killed on the Afghan border.

Well he meant if days of dependency on US is finished they've got other means like selling their daughters, sisters, & even their wives to Chinese. :biggrin2::biggrin2::pound::pound::pound:

Apart from that they will also sell their country bit by bit to China and live in Arabian sea....or migrate as terrorists to Europe.....:biggrin2:

China will not do what USA is been doing for Pakistanis for these long years ... China will not give Pakistan money as aid nor the Russians are in a position to give any aid...

outright hostility with USA will lead to drying up of loans from institution from World Bank and IMF where USA have veto power...

I believe Pakistan will buckle under pressure and go for some sort of compromise with USA....

That's true..Pakis...You fooled and used USA for decades in the name of fighting terrorists...got a lot of money and weapons.
Finally, US leader has understood your double game and you can not bluff anymore. You better find another master who you can fool and get some money.
