India calls upon all sides in Turkey to support democracy
India on Saturday called upon all sides to support democracy and mandate of the ballot and avoid bloodshed in Turkey, which is witnessing violence after an attempted military coup in which at least 60 people have died.
"India calls upon all sides 2 support democracy & mandate of the ballot, & avoid bloodshed," external affairs ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.

Very strange that we still have not learned to speak the language of powerful nations. After attack on Pakistan in UN yesterday, one would have thought otherwise, but, sigh.

Is this true? Is this a rumour? Is this part of an information warfare?

Information warfare.

Most coupe supporters are very active on social media and are trying hard to distort reality.

Solid line is; Erdogan was fairly elected by the people and hold most of Turkey's support.

One reason the coupe failed was because of civilian resistance.

This failed coupe has successfully placed the army into it's rightful position and we won't be seeing another coupe attempt for a long time. It'll also give the civilian leadership much more power held than before.

Lets wait and pray for the best.
One could expect only a Pakistani to be so jubilant at the prospect of an authoritarian dictatorship. No wonder it keeps happening so frequently in Pakistan. Keep up the good work.

If one goes by @Zulfiqar Khan 's assertions then secular army went against jihadi Erdogan but lost to his civilian supporters.

Larger question will remain if Army will hold pockets where his supporters are not saturated and a bloody civil war will commence or they will be disciplined and stripped off.

Another conspiracy theory I may float is Erdogan's recent overtures made including apology to Russia not going well with NATO thus a coupe was executed at their dictation.

One perspective from India

I was talking to a Turkish friend during the coup and she said it is false flag given ground conditions there. Apparently, it failed and in hindsight it seems a legit theory.

Anyway, not many top generals supported coup or came out with clear message post takeover, so the theory gets most credibility. If you need to do a successful coup, you need to control the narrative to the public. Send out the signal that you have taken over and why you have taken over. But the military failed to project a face and motives. So it all seems orchestrated.

So it was no secularists, but another Jihadi faction which wanted to take over.

Anyway, in the long run a muslim majority country would be run by barbarians. Talk of secularism and separation of state and religion are just temporary glitches.

  • They bomb hotel where Erdogan was staying after he left?
  • He was flying around in an airplane instead of really fleeing to Europe or elsewhere?
  • Erdogan says traitors in military are taking orders from Pennsylvania, where opposition leader Gulen is based? Really?
  • Bombing an empty parliament building?
  • Soldiers were overwhelmed by presumably unarmed average citizens? After citizens being told to take to the streets by Erdogan and the Imams?
  • Cheering crowds greet him at the airport?
  • ERDOGAN: COUP ATTEMPT A 'BLESSING' AS MILITARY TO BE CLEANSED
  • ERDOGAN: THE BEHAVIOR OF 'NEW TURKEY' WILL BE VERY DIFFERENT

All the information we have so far leads me to believed this was staged in order to push their twisted agenda further. Fuck!!...ts like we are living in a world filled with smoke and mirrors, and filled with people that are constantly manipulating the truth.
interesting how OBAMA supported the Islamic revolutions in Egypt, Syria, Libya and the rest of the Arab spring but doesnt support this ANTI- Islamic coup ( assuming this is a real coup and not a false one).

Here we see the brave Turkish army in its natural habitat :

Seems like this event was staged by Erdogan entirely for the camera. Most of the recruits seem very young. The establishment probably took fresh recruits and decided to send them on a picnic in urban areas and give them a bootcamp like experience. Once the drama was done, they were packed into buses and taken back to their bases. These don't even look like the kind of soldiers who would participate in a coup. They look like school kids.

Too bad coup didn't even last one day. Turkish police seem to be more competent than Turkish military.
Everything was a drama. The narrative being created is that 'fascist forces in Turkey have been defeated by democratic forces', thereby tacitly implying that Erdogan is a 'democratic force'. In one single master stroke, he was able to kill 200 people who opposed him, used the chaos to damage the buildings of those news channels which were against him and projected himself as the hero who punished those who were trying to take over Turkey. He will use this to curb civil liberties of the opposition by associating them with the coup. The truth is, he is the one who took over the country. This man is a loony. Just wait for a few hours, he will start shelling the Kurdish regions, claiming that they were somehow responsible for instigating the coup.

It wasn't a genuine military coup.
Even some of the soldiers involved do not seem to have known that it is coup.

wow!! even kim kardashian marriage lasted longer than a coup attempt! Incompetency has a new name - Turkish army.
Maybe the turkish army is incompetent but that is not a conclusion to be drawn from this incident.
It was staged and aparently the soldiers didn't even know it was a coup, they thought it was a training exercise.
:wtf:
