Congs Lalu snub a signal to Nitish

    TIMES NEWS NETWORK

New Delhi: The Congresss decision to keep Lalu Prasad out of seat distribution with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha for the 2014 polls has stoked speculation that it is keeping the doors open for a tie-up with Nitish Kumar in Bihar.

The party has hammered out a deal with the JMM in which it has cornered 10 of the 14 Lok Sabha seats, with four to be contested by the regional outfit. While the RJD would be crucial for government formation in the state as part of the deal, the refusal to leave any seat for Lalu is being seen as the Congresss attempt to keep Nitish in good humour.

Nitish and Lalu are arch rivals in Bihar.Lalus RJD has been an ally of the Congress since 2004.

The changed equations since the JD(U)s break-up with the BJP has raised the prospects of the Congress joining hands with Nitish, who it feels will dominate the state in 2014.The Congress's decision to support Nitish in the assembly trust vote after the divorce with the BJP only showed a growing proximity between them even if both the camps denied the possibility of an alliance.

End of Happy Hours for Laloo?

Even the Jharkhand High Court is after him for the Fodder scam from which he got a long reprieve with the blessing of Mother Mary.

Not to worry. Lallu ji's RJD, to stay out of long arm of CBI, as well as Niku ji's JD(U), to get `special status` from central govt, will both support corrupt Congress just as SP and BSP support it in Uttar Pradesh.
