Lucknow: Two Uttar Pradesh State Roadways buses were damaged as members of two communities clashed over a religious site in Uttar Pradesh's Faizabad town Tuesday, police said. A contingent of paramilitary Rapid Action Force (RAF) has been deployed in the town.

The clash follows similar communal tension in the state's Bareilly city Sunday.

Police said violence broke out in the Mirzapur area of Faizabad, 120 km from Lucknow, after a brief altercation between members of two communities. They then indulged in heavy stone pelting and went on rampage, damaging two buses of the Uttar Pradesh State Roadways.

They also raised slogans against the district administration and the state government.

District officials admitted that for the last one week discontent had been simmering following a dispute over the religious place and its use but the officials had failed to thrash out a solution.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramit Sharma said the situation was under control and a platoon of the RAF has been deployed as a precautionary measure.

No arrests have been made but police are keeping a close watch on the situation, he added.

Strange co-incidence, communal violence first in Kokrajhar, Bareilly and now Faizabad

What is happening? Communal tension everywhere. Is this just a coincidence, or is this a ploy by the Siculars to polarize the Muslim votes before the 2014 elections?

India needs to incarcerate all the trouble makers. If you want peace, keep 10% of the population behind bars. There is no other way. There are too many useless and jobless buggers wandering about on the streets.

Who knows... sick-cular govt has lost credibility and seems to be scared of MODI's popularity so wants to distract public.

But too early to say anything.

If they did it, they could've done it a bit late. Still a lot of time before elections. But then again (if Congress doing it) they can do it in phases to stay under. So that makes it what, 1st phase?

Everywhere the story is the same (quoting from the first post):

In short the Administration/Police have been shying away from taking concrete acting because they fears backlash from their Sicular governments. Same thing we observed in Delhi, same has happened in Assam. Those in high offices were already aware, but refused to intervene.

I have a better solution. Stop vote bank politics. And adopt UCC.

Hehehe...I know what you did there....;)

Any polarization can benefit only one party.

EDIT:- So this is a separate incident.!! This is bad...:tsk:

Prefer Maya to SP and BJP to Congi any day. Maya had done some good work in UP yet the bhaiyyas fell for Akhilesh's charm. Happening all over the country - voters electing the worse choice.
