CIA says cyberattacks against Ukraine in 2017 committed by Russian military - Washington Post
http://en.interfax.com.ua/news/general/476772.html

The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) believes that cyberattacks against Ukraine in 2017 were committed by Russian military hackers in order to disrupt the financial system of the Ukrainian state amid its ongoing war in Donbas with separatists loyal to the Kremlin, the Washington Post has said, citing a CIA report.

According to the statement, the CIA concluded with "high confidence" that a mock ransomware virus dubbed NotPetya, which attacked computers of Ukrainian banks, energy companies, airports and senior government officials in June 2017, was created by the military spy agency of the Russian Chief Intelligence Directorate (GRU).

At the same time, the Washington Post notes that the CIA declined to comment.

However, the newspaper recalls that the virus also affected computer systems in Denmark, India and the United States, but more than half of those victimized were in Ukraine.

"The attacks reflect Russia's mounting aggression in cyberspace as part of a larger 'hybrid warfare' doctrine that marries traditional military means with cyber-tools to achieve its goal of regional dominance," the newspaper quotes Robert Hannigan, former head of Britain's GCHQ intelligence agency, as saying.

The ATO HQ recorded a new fact of the presence of the Russian equipment in Donbas.

On January 14, Russian UAV ‘Orlan 10’ was shot down in the region (the third one since the truce beginning).

‘Orlan 10’ is intended for a variety of missions including air reconnaissance, observation, and monitoring. This unmanned aerial vehicle carries a thermal imaging camera, a photo camera and a video camera. The cameras provide real-time intelligence, 3D maps, surveillance, and aerial reconnaissance of ground-based targets.

The Ukrainian air defence forces reveal enemy’s UAVs, track them and shoot them down, if necessary.

Those "cyber attacks" are rediculous shit.
Especially on Ukraine which doesn't have any viable digital economy or the like...

Virus cannot be considered as cyber attack.

At the top of this, the source of it was ukrainian made MedOK accounting software - a shitty 1C substituite.

And yes, noone from those who has normal admins has suffered.
There were a wave of the like viruses 2 months earlier.
So applying MS patches in time had guaranteed safe.
But no other countries admins were so stupid and lazy as ukrainian ones to ignore patches and updates.

Last year, the Ukrainian army received: 30 sanitary lightly armored MTLB-S, 100 sanitary Bogdan 2151 (4х4), 40 ambulances on the basis of Hamer. The problem of the shortage of ambulances in the army is completely closed.

Why more.
There was a deficit of ambulances 4x4. This does not mean that those sanitary UAZ-452A were sent to the scrap.
As for the sanitary lightly armored equipment, at the beginning of the war it was not at all. In 2014-16 there were deliveries of sanitary armored cars on the basis of BTR and BMP.
A lot of this was not enough - get acquainted with the structure of the medical battalion in the brigade and how much they are supposed to have cars.
I are already fed up with your military illiteracy.

Russian media have sharply reacted to deliver "Javelin'' from the US to Ukraine. 32 launchers and 200 missiles to them. Is this much. This year the Ukrainian army ordered from the defense industry 800 complexes of ATGM ''Skif'' and ''Corsair'' and several thousand missiles fot to them and also for to remote weapon stations for APC and IFV. Deliveries will be made within 3 years.

Also, the army ordered several hundred disposable rocket-propelled Infantry Flamethrower RPV-16 (a copy of the Soviet RPO-A Shmel) and a large batch of portable RK-4 grenade launchers and grenades to it, which would replace SRG-9.

didnt get you, did you meant i am fake.....

I do not see the picture, because this site in Ukraine are blocked, but complexes of active protection bear more damage to their infantry than to the enemy. Therefore, they are not used on light armored vehicles. The IFV and APC is a machine for the squadron of infantry and it acts directly in direct interaction with its unit. Therefore I do not believe.

Valentin Doroshenko, who was killed on January 19 as a result of a shootout with law enforcers in Odessa, had a gunsmith's workshop in a disguised cellar under his house. This is reported by the press service of the police in the Odessa region.

It is alleged that several machine tools were found in the cellar, including lathe and drill, blanks for weapons, two finished submachine guns and a pistol.
