KAB-500Kr-U
The KAB-500KR is a 500 kg class precision-guided bomb designed for the latest generation of Russian-made aircraft such as Su-24M, Su-30, Su-34 and Mig-29. It is a fire/drop and forget weapon with the target locked on the target before the launch. Once released, the KAB-500KR directs itself to the planned target. This weapon can defeat surface stationary/fixed hardened targets such as reinforced concrete shelters, runways, railway and highway bridges, military installations and ships. The KAB-500KR-U training bomb was developed by the Tactical Missiles Corporation (KTRV) to provide training for the KAB-500KR, KAB-500OD and KAB-1500KR precision-guided bombs.

Can't tell much of anything in that photo. The tip shouldn't be white.

I guess at the very least the Chinese managed to fit the Uchebnaya or Training version of KAB-500KR GBU on Q-5 for training purposes... based on this report back from 2004 it seems they have had these for quite some time now...

However, China reportedly ordered 45 KnAAPO-built Su-30MKKs and placed a supplementary order (initially quoted as 24, but later stated to be 40) in June 2001. The first batch of 10 Su-30MKKs left Russia on delivery to China on 20 December 2000, nine followed in March/April 2001 and 10 more on 21 August. Later the Chinese aircraft, known as Series III, will switch to Zhuk-MS radars. Russian weapon deliveries began in January 2001 with the Kh-59ME (AS-18 "Kazoo"), Kh-29T (AS-14 "Kedge") and Kh-31P (AS-17 "Krypton") ASMs and KAB-500Kr guided bombs.

Training bombs are red.

Actually its the training pod to simulate target acquisition, as illuminated by the Sapsan designator pod.
and the one in the Q-5 is probably a cloned one that's the reason its white, while the original exported by Russia are Red..

although this is KB-1500Kr but it is from the same family of GBUs

The pod picture is of a Russian seeker, it has nothing to do with the Chinese photo. Training bombs are red including the KAB-1500s you posted.

Even China paints their training rounds red... everybody does it.

It is not a KAB-500KR either training or live. As seen in this photo,
[/IMG] they have black seeker heads covered by glass to protect the camera. The head of the OP is painted white which means there is no TV equipment in it.
