Until and unless, We improve our defence, There will be always risk of WAR from Chinese side. Once, Our defence capability will be strong enough to face 2 side war, Then chance of war would be negligible. An authoritarian communist Chinese Gov. will never want to face defeat in front of Chinese people. So, They can do anything in order to win war even by using Nuke.

    I agree.

Intention wise, PRC's first target is USA. Capability wise, PRC's first target is India. I would also include Russia. They wanted to grab land from the then USSR and fought a war with them. PRC sure needs a big hammering so that they learn a lesson once and for all.

We all know that Mr.G.W.Bush was not one of the smartest brains in White House. And I m surprised he throws a comment out of nowhere.

Probably a ploy to sell more weapons to India!

Do some countries get a benefit when they sell weapons and arm a country ? This could very well be a food for thought

It’s a very interesting dilemma here, India it seems is not yet looking to take sides as overtly. At least the motive seems to be not to fight america’s war or put India in a situation where India is seen as pursuing america’s interests, but you have a situation where America is pushing us to take a side, and its not just a china thing, its happening all over.

Take iran, Burma, Syria, Libya, it happened everywhere and these are all interest areas where we have counter interests and as a result US seems to be getting more and more pissed off with GoI.

Take Afghanistan and the same is being repeated. If you’ve followed the news and Indian stance, there is growing feeling which is echoed in this one line below, a view i am consistently reading, emerging from the MEA/experts over the past few days:

This showed in the just concluded meeting of 13 countries in turkey where india largely remained silent to all the new proposals coming from the US, there wasn’t even a lukewarm response, compare this to when India was strongly advocating the strong US/NATO presence even after 2014.

All this makes me recall condi’s call for India to shun the NAM ideology, which then had a lot of Indians worked up, on how dare the americans tell us what and what not to do.

As the things stand, it seems now the US is using their best card in bush who is largely seen as a friend of India. Let us see how he will help turn around India.

China's No. 1 target is the US, next is India: George W Bush - The Economic Times

MUMBAI: Former US president George W Bush on Tuesday delivered a blunt warning to Indians about the intentions of China. The former president who has courted trouble in the past with his aggressive and overthe-top assertions said China was looking to upstage India.

"China's No. 1 target is the US, next is India," he told a group of select CEOs at a late dinner meet on Tuesday. Bush, the two-term president whose reign saw a dramatic improvement in Indo-US relations, also said his country's patience with Pakistan was wearing thin, according to one of the participants.

"If the US had not befriended Pak, Pak would have become more dangerous. But now US patience is wearing off," he said. In the course of a free-wheeling discussion, Bush also touched upon a number of important topics. He cautioned businessmen never to do business with Russia and said the EU would have a completely different look in five years but the euro would stay.

"If Iran goes after Israel, the US will go after Iran," Bush said, referring to the tense stand-off in the Middle-East over Iran's nuclear weapons programme. "While making history, timing is most important," he added. Those attending the dinner meet included HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh and ICICI Bank Chairman KV Kamath.

    Closed-door dinner

RPG promoter Harsh Goenka, GVK group promoter GVK Rao, Bajaj Auto chairman Rahul Bajaj and IIFL promoter Nirmal Jain were also present. "This event was kept a secret because the main condition from George W Bush's office was that there will be no announcements about this engagement and no media coverage given to it.

Even the list of guests was kept secret," said a senior executive from ICICI Lombard. The visit was organised ICICI Lombard and Fairfax Financial Holdings, a Torontobased company that owns 26% of the Indian general insurance company, and was attended by their top officials from India and the US.

Source said Bush asked them questions about the current economic scenario in India, recent terror bombings in Mumbai, and general security situation in Mumbai and India.

In the evening, a closed-door dinner for Bush was attended by leaders of the corporate world such as Parekh and Kamath. The ICICL Lombard spokesperson said the guest list was kept secret because of security reasons.

State security officials said Bush was scheduled to take off from Mumbai international airport at 7 am on Wednesday. US consulate sources said Bush's visit was private. The security at Taj hotel was increased to Z level, which is usually provided for international VVIP visits.

Sources from the state security agencies said US secret service officials scanned the area a day in advance ahead of Bush's arrival and provided the inner security cover while he was in Mumbai. He landed in a private jet on Monday night and travelled to the Taj by road in a small convoy.

The former US president, whose decision to invade Iraq attracted much opposition but is more popular in India because of the nuclear deal, spent the night at the Tata suite in the heritage wing of the Taj where his successor President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle stayed during their visit to Mumbai last year.Top police sources said Bush's visit was kept a secret mainly because of security reasons.

    Nice try G.W.B.
America's or maybe world’s number 1 enemy is probably this guy and his notorious administration that dragged US into lost 10 years and 2 wars that cost trillions of dollars and hundreds of thousand lives around the world. He should try leaving his Texas ranch and visiting other country to see how people will react to him.

It’s the USA, not India.the USA want to keep China down, not want China to develop up, this "little bush" of a USA president actually want to make a big trouble with China, but before the action taken out,got mislead by dear Mr Bin laden( may peace be with him), got in the mud of Iraq and Afhanistan, all Chinese people felt the pressure in the year 2000 and 2001. because the USA understand China better than India, the USA is always between wars, and fought China face to face in Korea and Vietnam. They know China will be the competitor of the USA.
But China will not target India, even with the border problems. China was force to fright a brief war with India, because China were in trouble with the USA, same time also with the Soviet union, China can not take care of the remote west frontier, India’s forward policy was a big trouble for China, China fought a war to keep the border at peace until now. your government not understand the situation, China can not afford to fight India, the logistic too difficult to keep war went on, that’s why after the brief conflict, China withdraw 20km, with the minimum cost, China keep the border at peace untill now, your leadership can not compared with the founding fathers of the new China.
Now the USA is not at the position 10years ago when the "little bush" were the president of America, and after 10 years of developing, China now in a much better position in the world. China target on the USA, the meaning is to over take the power of USA, not wish to conflict with it. After China powerful enough, USA will be force to cooperat with China, this what they not like.but China will not conflict with India, China always regard a war as the last result, when China strong, will have many options, so will be no war. can you Indian understand?

This is the guy that thought Saddam had given Al Queda nukes and had a massive stockpile of WMD. What he says gets as many LOLs as niceguy. China's biggest target is Vietnam right now.

Next is India for not backing down from their threats. You can say Taiwan but that front has been pretty quiet. China will never start something with the US as long as they are tied at the hip financially.

    Kickok,

There are strange and sudden things happening around:

    Sample these:

India sucessfully tests Agni IV, the missile which can hit Beijing.
Japan offers Amphibious aircrafts to India.
    OZ offers Uranium to India.
India to buy more than 250 4.5 generation aircraft.
India will be sufficient in Submarine and Aircraft carriesrs.
USA to have a marine base in Austrelia.
Vietnam asks India to deploy ships in their country.
India to deploy more than 100000 more troops on Tibet border.

well much more and much more. China is going to repent for 1962.
