China Expects J-20 Stealth Fighter to Be Combat Ready in 2019 | Defense Update
This second or third class fighter will stay within China and will be never be seen outside as Chinese are afraid that it's copied technology may become too obvious. Also, it's capability or lack of it, will become talk of the defence circles world wide.
americans consider chinise 5th to be actually 4th gen.
so chinise 5th is worse than sukhoi mki. note also sukhoi mki is going to be made into super sukhois, which is 4.5 gen.
Do you guys have any reasonable critiques of the J20 or is it the usual "copied technology" comments?
I miss P2Prada. Haven't had a technical debate on military technology on this site in a long time and you fools seem unable to put two coherent thoughts together let alone discuss the technical merits of any air-frame.
yes, J20 is a copycat version of F35.
looking at the air inlets shows it's an f-35 copy....
and those canards.. never seen in any fifth generation fighter...
So overall F-35 copy with two engines and rafale canards....
This should give IAF a serious reconsideration of its plan to acquire Rafale and another 4th generation M-MRCA.
omg you want tech discussion but this guy @Martian just logs just to brag about half chinese tech demonstrators and then disappears ,
its not a surprise for anyone through out the world that chinese military hardware from guns to aircrafts are all straight out copied designs ,
you guys even copied fcu###g kfc and macdonalds restaurants .
I won't criticise too much, J20 looks like a double engined stealth version of J10 , with copied stealth aspects from F series of US. At least I have said something new
la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la.
If you have a point then say it. If not then keep quite.
Members of DFI know nothing, our Pilatus unarmed imported super trainer can kill J20 anytime it wants.
Those canards are not goona help in reducing RCS from front. Every deflection will drastically increase its RCS, and in BVR combat it might just turn out to be a big minus. That considering Chinese have not made J-20s canard with some super duper RAM. No wonder Russian Air Force selected T-50 over Mig-1.44 on which J-20 apparently is based.
China is deploying the J-20 this year in 2016. May I know when will India's PMF(Perspective Multi-role Fighter) be inducted?
1)"The latest images (December 2015) indicated that a new J-20 in yellow primer was builtwhich is likely to be the first LRIP model (2101). First flight took place on January 18, 2016. More LRIP J-20s are being built in 2016, at least 4 (2101-2104) by July 2016, wearing a gray color scheme and low-visibility PLAAF insignias. The first batch is expected to enter the service with PLAAF by the end of 2016 (S/N 40x4x?). In the meantime J-20 prototypes have been undergoing weapon launch tests including lunching PL-15 AAMs."
2)"The deal opens the prospect of producing 250 FGFAs to replace the multirole Sukhoi-30MKI fighter, according to the source in India’s Ministry of Defence as quoted by Business Standard.
The 2008 deal is projected to cost each country $6 billion, adjusted for inflation. India’s state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics and Russia’s Sukhoi have agreed to cut costs by 40 percent to $4 billion each over seven years.(Does this means PMF's earliest deployment date would be in 2023?)
The countries will invest $1 billion in the first year and another $500 million in each of the following six years.
In the meantime, India is negotiating with France on buying 36 multirole Rafale fighters for a price yet to be negotiated. French President Francois Hollande arrives in Delhi on Monday to sort out the financial details.2"
Also, China's 2nd fighter jet project, the J-31 might enter production earliest by 2019(just 3 years away). Pakistan seems to be interested in procuring this fighter. Would India's PMF be able to enter IOC on time?
3)"The actual prototype was expected to fly during the second half of 2016. If ordered now by a foreign customer,FC-31 could enter the production as early as 2019 and achieve IOC in 2022. A recent rumor suggested that the second FC-31 prototype started taxi test on April 30, 2016. The latest rumor claimed that the 01 prototype powered by two indigenous WS-13E turbofan engines flew for the first time on July 1, 2016."
How? J11B is a copy of the Su27 with Chinese components. The two look almost Identical. J7 is a licensed copy of the mig21. They look almost exactly alike.
The F35 on the other hand is a medium weight, single engine fighter-bomber with a traditional wing and tail configuration.
The J20 is a HEAVY WEIGHT, TWIN ENGINE, AIR SUPERIORITY FIGHTER with a TAIL-LESS CANARD DELTA CONFIGURATION.
They aren't even in the same weight class yet you "analytical geniuses" take every available opportunity to call one a copy of the other. Having DSI inlets doesn't make the J20 an F35 copy. Both the J10B and the JF17 have DSI inlets yet none of you call either one a copy of the F35.
All Fifth Gen fighter have a shaped chin aspect to their front end. Its the only way to ensure full front aspect stealth, yet somehow China's stealth fighters are supposed to be "radically" different or other wise they are copies. Doesn't the AMCA "MODEL" have the same chiseled front end? Is it a copy of the F35 too?
The fact that none of your critiques have a technical basis leads me to the assumption that you are all simply bitter that the only aircraft your industry could produce after a 30 year effort is a small, light weight fighter that even after its extended development has not assumed a combat role as yet.
I'd even go as far as to say that if the J20 had been produced by HAL, you would all be tripping over yourselves to praise its design, faults or no. The only problem you have with it, is that it's of Chinese origin. #TRUTH
Looks like one more fake account with copy paste from blogs
That particular critique is quite popular, but not quite factual.
As Dr Michael J Pelosi and Dr Carlo Kopp point out, the frontal RCS of the J20 presents robust Very Low Observable performance against X-band and S-band radars - canards included.
And to prove their point even more, S. Korea and Indonesia's KF-X 5th gen fighter project selected a canard-delta configuration for their final aircraft.
Even the Rafale has better RCS performance over the F18 despite it having canards and the F18 being a traditional configuration fighter. The LEVCON's on the PAK-FA have no documented detrimental effects on its VLO performance, why would the Canards on the J20?
Last but not least, If canards where an impediment to VLO performance, Chengdu would not have selected the J20's configuration and neither would KAI have chosen the same configuration for their 5th gen program.
The problem you guys have is that you truly believe that Chinese designers are somehow less intelligent or not as capable as their Western or Indian counterparts. Underestimating your rivals is a weakness in Indians.
This will prove worse than J10 (atleast 5 of which has fallen down in last year) . J 10 is atleast a lavi design where Junk 20 is a crap having problem with each part.
Hi. Im asking when is the PMF going to enter production- why the unprovoked hostility?
Base on your comment:
You mean it's not allowed here? I didnt know that you cant 'copy and paste' articles/information from blogs here in this forum. The source on J-20 is a from a respectable Chinese source and since the plane is a Chinese project- it(the source) has good credibility. The source on the PMF is from https://www.rt.com/ (a Russian news outlet) and since the PMF is a collborated project between Russia and India- it also has good credibility(on the PMF).
you are very pretty.................................
@Kunal Biswas @pmaitra
Too much trolling on the thread.
I would love if they would be crushing in response of trolls but they(some Indian members) themselves started trolling. Pathetic!
