To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
    And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;

Hope China takes the initiative to grow green, rather than industrialize dirty like the West.

China is doing real well economically.

    Kudos to her.

However, speculation of what it will be is merely a speculation and may not work out in real terms.

Personally, I do not feel comfortable with these speculations be it for any country including India.

That is why I say, when it happens I will believe it.

in 2015, CHina will become a quosi- high-income economy ,with a per capital nominal GDP of 10-15K USD,which is almost equal to Poland and Hungary.

At that time, coastal CHina, with a per capital nominal GDP of 20-30K USD,will be as rich as S.Korea and New Zealand.

"high-income" is just a classification of having a nominal GDP per capita above 10K.

in fact we will not really be high income at that time. still a lot of room to grow.

the threshold of "high-income economy" is also adjusted ,according to the inflation.....

10K+ USD( nominal per capital GDP) is a bit loose now, because even Mexico and Brazil has a nominal per capital GDP of 10K+ USD....

15K or 20K might be the more proper threshold.

Economic wise,China is growing 1/4 of a Japan annually, and can look forward to continuing fast growth(8% or thereabout)for the next 20 years。

Urbanization will be one of the major drivers of growth between now and 2030,by which time city dwellers will account for some 65% of the population,a figure still way below the level of present-day so-called developed countries。

The defence industry is another growth engine。

So what , at least we have much more road than India.

In coast big city each family at least has one car. Beijin city has 4 million auto, and ShangHai has 3 million auto. But in small cities and inland China has great potential.
