China is the world's second-richest government. Its fiscal revenue will total about $2.5 trillion for this year.
Last year, China had fiscal revenues of $2.33 trillion. Only the United States government had a higher fiscal revenue of $2.99 trillion.
Interestingly, China and the US are both running annual fiscal deficits at 3% of GDP. The 3% benchmark for an annual fiscal deficit was set in the European Maastricht Treaty as the maximum sustainable deficit over the long-term.
