Since commodity prices have dropped dramatically, it doesn't make sense to use the US Dollar valuation as a metric for trade. Thus, the more reliable indicator is container volume.

China's February 2016 port volume fell by a trivial 0.8%. This statistic might have been affected negatively by the Chinese New Year celebration on February 8, 2016 (when China shuts down for a week).

In conclusion, Chinese trade (ie. import and export) is holding steady.
