The agreement was signed between China Ship Trading Company (CSTC) and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) during a ceremony at Ministry of Defence Production (MoDP) in Islamabad yesterday

According to the agreement, four ships will be constructed in China with the remaining two will be built at Karachi’s Shipyard and Engineering Works under Transfer of Technology.

Last year, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) approved eight development projects worth Rs157 billion, including two signature projects of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N – first phase of Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (PCEC)

The one in the pic is type 54A frigate which costs about $350 million, 6 of them would be over $2billion, don't think China is going to be free.......... or the reporters are plain stupid to post a frigate as a patrol ship.

Its possibly going to be the Haiqing class coastal ASW Patrol vessels or the TPE 062 Class gunboats. I'd put my money on the Haiqing though. The PLAN already operates some 36 examples and it should be simple for them to transfer some older hulls to the PN for free.
It wouldn't be the first time these vessels have been transferred either, At least two examples are known to serve with the Tanzanian Naval forces and the Sri Lankan navy also acquired a few to counter the Sea Tigers.
