never judge the book by the cover it has.just seeing one cover photo how can you say he is poor.
pics can be misleading

accept your point, and same applies to china too.one who thinks he is rich in china is poor class for a super rich nations middle class citizen

all that matters is in ppp terms and chance of growth potential.

as for an old proverb as you sow you reap, any company has to invest less for infrastructure here and the returns too will be obviously less
well, China is the heaven for "mid class" so called. Here, They can enjoy infrastructure as advanced as USA and EU and buy cheapest modern house appliances , while enjoying service item as cheap as in Tainland.
For example,
USA's "mid class" may afford modern house ,household appliances, and other modern commodities easily, but they can hardly afford dining in restaurant every week

however, it is quite usual that Chinese "mid-class" family have a dinner in restaurants once every week at least

real "mid class" in India may enjoy cheaper housekeeping service than CHina....
But they can not enjoy world class infrastrcutures as CHinese couterpart, they can not buy houseappliance as cheap as in CHina.

the life quality of mid class in China is quite close to that in Taiwan ,HOngkong and S.korea, while enjoy cheaper service items
that is why soooo many oversea Chinese return to CHina now.....because they can enjoy higher life quality in China while having more fortunate chance.

Of course, maybe only 30% of Chinese belong to "mid class" so called...

the real problem for CHina is to improve the life quaility of blue collar class such as peasant workers

their life quality is much lower than chinese "mid class" and their counterpart in developed countries

exactly my point - ppp
so people of middle class in any developing country has the same features more or less.more services at lesser price
our infrastructure too is rising so does our quality of living.

For India to succeed diplomatically and in geopolitics it is imperative that it grows economically and very rapidly at that. Right now China outspends India in every sphere to "buy" influence which in many cases is detrimental to Indian national security but there is nothing that India can do about it unless it can match China dollar for dollar. India's "good image" will then be an advantage to compete with China.
Can influence be bought? Take SL for example, India offers aid to SL. However China's projects over SL are not aid, instead are supposed to churn out return on investment commercially. And India's approaches are often self defeating such as its support for UNHRC resolution against SL. Then "good image" all depends.

India hasn't sorted out its relationship with South Asian peers on the periphery. Even Bhutan is on the lookout for a hedge. So, why shall China see India as a valid challenger?

How can economy really catch up with such mishaps as Most power restored after India hit by second, even larger outage - CNN.com ?

Unlike CHina,Most developling counry can hardly provide its mid class with wolrd class infrastructures such as HR,extensive expressway, glizz airports, and convinent public transport sestem and etc, because usually those world infrastructure appear in developed countries such as USA,canada ,EU and Japan.

Unlike in CHina, In most devleoping countries, industry products such as household appliances and auto are more expensive than that in Developed countries, because they imported those or usually can not produce those produce as efficiently as industriazled countries .

only CHina are the exception among developing country. CHina has infrastructure and complete industry chains that can match developed countries while it has low labour cost that can match Tailand......

Genally speaking ,CHina has the advantages of developing country and developed country while has not disadvantages of them....

I think you are over opitmistic .

Nowdays, the massive upgrade of Chinese infrastructure consumes over half of global steel, concrete, broze woods, coal and huge other raw resources.
China's population is 4 times of USA's.
After industrialziation is finished, the life quality fo CHinese people is approaching rapidly to developed countries....

the earth resource is limited and can not sustain another such massive infrastructure upgrade.

In another 20 years, CHinese people will consume electricity, oil, auto, household appliance and other items as many as yankees ,Eropeans and Japanese.,even measured by per capital consumtpion.

At that time, because China has more populaiton of EU+USA+Japan+Canada+Autralia+New Zealand, China will consume food, oil, electricity, iron ore ,food and other resource than all developed countries....

At that time, no resources will left for the infrastructure upgrade and industrialzaiton of India and other developing countreis.

If you give a further consideration, others may have to just stare at China currently:

1. developed countries--they already got their infrastructure mature;
2. developing countires--most of them don't have industry capacity as China on steel, concret, chemical, etc;
3. india--you don't have a deep pocket to compete those resources with China in the market.

For time being, China is the only country which has the merits of low cost /high literated /disciplined labour , world-class infrastructure, complete industry chains at the same time.

that is why China can has such huge industry might and can upgrade its infrastructure so rapidly and massive with such a huge industry might.
