India is very multi lingual. i personally know how to read and write 4 different languages. Be as it may be ..there are a variety of options tht open up for a Chinese speaking individual, form intelligence services to trade and lobbying.

Trust me. There is no language tougher than Mandarin. There is no alphabet.

well it not tough but different ,as it uses change in pitch to pronounce different words differently.

like nihao can mean hello and dirt just by changing the rising or falling pitch at the end,

Excellent news. Despite the current spat with the CCP over Tibet etc., our relationship with the Chinese peoples and civilisation is much more long term than that.

Well I was talking about the written aspect. Grammar is very easy.

Anyway I am not aware of "dirt" being called Ni Hao, regardless of pitch. Can you please post the characters so I can learn?

    Good idea.

Now India should offer to do likewise. Let the Chinese learn Hindi!
