dumping cheap and low quality products harms the importer everytime. either the consumer will suffer or producer will, something which India is avoiding. we all know quality of chinese products (built by chinese companies non branded ones) being dumped in India. take the mobile phones for examples, it helps terrorists, underworld dons more than consumers.Power equipment also gives problems with India power producers.
Demand creates supply.

Once those "low-quality" "cheap" is needed in India, someone are grad to produce them and dump them in India.

the only difference is "who produce and dump them in India?".

frankly speaking ,until India people has the same purchase power as west people and can afford expensive high-quality, those "low-quality" "cheap" can not disappear in india.

And if india have not manufacturing powerful enough, then those "low-quality" "cheap" will still be "made in CHina".

Is India doling out contracts to China? - India Business - Business - NEWS - The Times of India
27 July 2009

A letter written to the Finance Minister last month ahead of the Union Budget, L&T CMD A M Naik expressed concerns over import of Chinese power equipment to India that totalled nearly 8.3 billion dollars, while Chinese taxation model struck down any hopes of Indian exports to China.

The letter is in the possession of Times Now.

The letter points out that India is following the 'buy Chinese' policy in which international tenders are not floated to give China Advantage. It also says that Indian power companies changed specifications to suit Chinese manufacturers and that the Indian manufacturers are being overlooked and Chinese exporters incentivised.

The letter also points that exports from China is to the tune of $8.3 bn while Indian exports to China is negligible.
