(part of the article.....)
China has, so far, struggled to sell its Z-9 and the more advanced Z-11 helicopters, relying on Pakistan and a few African countries as export destinations. But officials said they said they believed their technology was "fast improving".

"We are happy to sell these helicopters to India and other countries," said PLA Colonel Yu Guo Yi.

The 20-year-old Z-9, for instance, was developed following a licensing agreement with France, based on its older Eurocopter models. The helicopters, still very much in use by the PLA, began being rolled out in 1991 from a manufacturing base in north-eastern Harbin. A variant is being used by the Pakistani Navy.
it is old helicopter and not many buyers that has forced China to look at India, despite the fact that they know in any future war with them India will use it against China, they have offered this old Helicopter. Long live Capitalist China.

It is old helicopter, and the model we sell them is one of the older variants, but still useful. The future of the class has moved on to much higher developments...

I take it since they are outdated, they would be lemons in any war.

China thus will make money and ensure India is toothless!

Clever dicks!

They are only clever if India is stupid enough to buy it.
You fail to see the tongue in cheek!

They will use this bogus 'offer' as a 'showpiece' that they are a peace loving nation so much so they don't take India as a threat and are even offering military hardware.

India, I can assure you, is not really that dumb to buy old machines when they have the money to buy new ones!

Armand, will the props on the wings give power to move forward if the rotor fails or is it just to provide stability?

If same offer was given to Pakistani, they would have been felling one over the other in appreciation of this old helicopter.

The Indian Railways should buy only the rotor Blades and use them as fans at the stations....

Will come in handy on hot afternoons....

Have them contact our scrap dealers. The kabaadi walas are good businessmen and will surely strike a deal with the Chinese.
