it was said that some future frigate project might try this quite modern trimaran design(Ex. LCS-2 Independence Class). but such new concept would always come with some unpredictable risks ...to get the first hand operation experience and knowledge about the Trimaran design ,PLAN ordered a class of high-speed trimaran Rescue Vessel...so far PLAN owns three such ships for Rescue missions(the one in the above post is the one from the PLAN north sea Fleet)...

just few days ago, we got some aerial shots of another one belongs to PLAN East Sea Fleet .

its a small (60-meter catalogue) ,water jet propulsion vessel with a large heli and rescue operation platform and the only arm is a 30mm single barrel gun

this is a AK306 (some kind of Light wight varient ,the firing rate is only around 1000 rounds/m) on the North Korean ship...it was controled by the Anti Aircraft Sight--Iron Sights

A derivatives of AK-630M was developed for light craft and this system was named as AK-306. Externally, the air-cooled AK-306 can be distinguished from the AK-630 by the absence of the water cooling system (a cylindrical jacket that surrounds the barrel cluster of the AK-630). Internally, the AK-306 (A-219) used electricity to power the automatics, instead of using the exhaust. This version also lacked radar control, being only optically guided, hence making it less of an anti-missile weapon and more of a surface-to-surface weapon, and the designation of the overall system is consequently changed from A-213-Vympel-A to A-219. The design started in 1974 and the system was accepted into service in 1980.
