I looked up the World Bank data for US per-capita GDP in 1976 and it said $8,300, which is almost exactly China's per-capita GDP today. In the article below, the World Bank correlation chart of China's income (years 2000-2015) and US income (years 1960-1975) is uncanny. If the correlation continues, China's per-capita GDP is about to boom and buy many products from all over the world.

For any such thing to happen china will first have to open up its economy like the us. If that happens chinese would loose millions of jobs.

USA didn't have a billion plus population in 1976 with an ultra protected market.

Chinese dream will remain just that .
