China plans to extend a railway line linking Tibet with the rest of the country to the borders of India, Nepal and Bhutan by 2020 once an extension to a key site in Tibetan Buddhism opens, a state-run newspaper reported on Thursday.

The rail link from Lhasa to Xigaze home to Panchen Lama has just been completed, then extending to Nepal practically not India . It will showcase to convince Myanmar and Bangladesh of rail connectivity to further integrate China with other parts of South Asia.

Historically the 2 sects headed respectively by Dalai and Panchen had been in the game of thrones for political, economic, and religious clout over Tibet. Panchen always got the short end of the stick though perhaps religiously speaking they were "equal", and had to exile outside Tibet. ROC's attempts to reinstate Panchen were foiled. Now imagine Dalai is going south , while Panchen on the rise.
