The world will be dominated by two big players, China and USA.
Wake up!! China may have a big population to show a growth likely to touch US economy. But the Chinese leadership don't have the maturity to sustain that growth you've acquired.. As Chinese economy is fed by the over population and in turn it needs to feed it big population. And so the Chinese leadership are growing greed in overstepping in other nations sovereignty as Investments with nations like Mongolia, Myanmar who bend to Chinese threats and Militarily with nations like Tibet, Taiwan, who doesn't bend to Chinese aggression..

Germany, Frence and British culture still deeply effect the world, that India, Brazil, Japan etc nations can not compare.
not for long period. You'll see soon the kind of influence India is going to have amongst foreign nations. And that's the reason China is trying to block India's advance in all the field.. You fear India as a thread to China and in turn mulling your forces to start a war to curb our growth, dipping our GDP..

From Afghanistan to Indonesia as once "greater India" as well as the Indian Ocean.

Be frankly, you indian are too greedy, you put your paw in dragon's pocket. Asia, including Indochina, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, etc is chinese Asia. Chinese believe the current India is too big to be a tame country,
If you feed, we Indian's are too greedy? then what about your claims on Arunachal (India), Tibet, Taiwan, Mongolia .. Totally it has 23 border disputes since 1949.. Do you really know your Chinese history??

India should be separated into many pieces, your following comment gives chinese the best evidence to strenghten what their believe.
This shows your utopia world where you keep on dreaming and will never be achieved.. It is not a big deal for India to make a coalition force with the nations surrounding to China to thwart Chinese aggression.. But significantly, we are the only Nation in the world which loves more Peace than any other country... And that is the reason, still Pakistan prevails in World map even after meddling India with terror..

Tibetan can only be independent in your indian dream.
Do you want to get all neighboring countries in China under one Chinese umbrella.. If so, its you who is dreaming.. You're not able to withstand an Army of nation like Vietnam.. Don't ever think to meddle with Indian forces.. never and ever!!...

Chinese has over thousand years experience how to manage asia, they did very well before, and will do better in future.
Do you think China is all Asia?? Try to manage your country first.. Dont try to play a Big-Boss role for other countries.. Nations across the globe know what they really want for their people.. And countries in Asia doesn't need your assistance..

Japan and the US had a wide sea between them, hence forcing the issue of aircraft carriers.

Any conflict contained in Asia will not be so dependent on aircraft carriers.

China provides a glimpse into its first aircraft carrier

China Saturday provided glimpses of the country's first aircraft carrier, an upgraded version of a partially-built vessel purchased from Ukraine in 1998, which is undergoing sea trials.

People's Daily, the official organ of the ruling Communist Party of China, carried a brief video showing the ship undergoing sea trials.

The video displayed in its interactive section, Peoples Forum also showed an aircraft landing on it.

China has taken a major step towards commissioning its first aircraft carrier by largely completing the restoration of a derelict ship purchased from Ukraine, a brief report in the people's forum of the daily website said.

China has also recently launched its J-20 stealth fighter, putting out reports on its official websites, and it was subsequently confirmed by President Hu Jintao to the visiting Defence Secretary Robert Gates this month.

The restoration includes all living and working compartments, engines, navigation systems and power-generating equipment.

Additional work is still needed on the elevator and flight deck, it said, but it was unclear when the restoration would be completed, it quoted a Hong Kong-based Kanwa Asian Defence magazine as saying.

The US Department of Defence has said it expects the ship to be re-launched at any time as a platform for training pilots, a major turning point in the military's wide-ranging modernisation drive.

China bought the mothballed carrier in 1998 and towed the engine and rudderless ship to the northeastern port of Dalian for a complete refitting.

Work on its internal systems took about four years, Kanwa said.

The complete restoration was intended to make the ship fully functional and to train technicians who will build China's future homemade carriers, according to the report.

"This has been a gigantic project and is virtually as complicated as building a brand-new aircraft carrier," Kanwa quoted an unidentified source with the Dalian region's military industry as saying.

The Varyag is a ski jump-style carrier with a displacement of about 55,000 tons, much smaller than the Japan-based US carrier George Washington, which has a displacement of more than 100,000 tons.

China reportedly bought Russian SU-33 carrier-based fighters and has modified domestic J-11 jets for carrier landings and takeoffs.

China is expected to go for several carriers in the future.

This will be China's first aircraft carrier.

Chinese defence officials say that China purposely avoided having aircraft carriers earlier as focussed more on its submarine fleet.

Its acquisition of an aircraft carrier puts its navy on an all together different footing, flexing muscles with the US fleet in South China Sea and the Indian navy in the Indian ocean, analysts say.

CHINESE AIRCRAFT CARRIER NEAR COMPLETE

It's an old fanboy video. The Varyag will still take another half year to finish. You can even see a sukhoi 33 landing on the Kuznestov in the end.
