well, CHina lauched the 4th Beidou satellite successfully last night.

Over one dozen Beidou satellites are to be lauched in 2 years,In 2012, Beidou will cover the Asia-Pacific area .

China is to finish Beidou satillet navigation system in 2020 ,which will have 35 satellites and competet Yankee's GPS and Russia's Glonass.

Europe's Galileo started earlier than Beidou, but now, Galileo has advanced much more slowly than Beidou.=xD

Now,Europeans are still talking and talking .they are still arguing whether they should drive Chinese out of the project of Gallile, when Beidou has left Gallile behind.....hahah =xD

frankly speaking, China itself has enough clients enough to support Beidou. So, Beidou needn't worry about demand of commerical clients at all.

However, Russia has not enough domesitc clients to support its Glonass, and can hardly attract commential clients from GPS.So,Russia's Glonass hardly can win enough commerical clients.

In 2020, only GPS and CHinese Beidou can win commerical success and have enough commercial clients.

the future of European's Galilio is still in air, before Europeans stop their talking .

The Russian are clever, they know India market is a major hope of Glonass, then invited India to "jointly make" Glonass.

India is planning its own GPS system. So i don't think Glonass can expect much from India.

India hasn't many satellite navigation users ,either. India+Russia still can not have enough clients to make a independent satellite system profitable commerically.

only big markets such as USA, EU and China have enough clients to support a independent satellite naviation system.

India has a population of 1.3 billion, next only to China. What makes you think India is not a big market? While every other MNC is setting up business in India, you are the first guy to contradict India's market as next to nothing. Strange!

Badguy since this is a rush job I would not say this is satellite can be compared to European Galileo or US GPS system. Especially since China has no one to copy from.

just google India's consumption of cars, steel ,household appliance and other prouducts, then you can easily find that India's industry product market is in the same league of Spain and S.korea----a mid-size market, although their population is only 1/30 of India's.
for you refence, 1.2 Japanese buy 7 M cars every year while 1.3 billion India buy 2 M cars -almost as same as Spain.
In a word, India is a considerable market, but absolute is not a decisive market such as EU,USA and China.

Chinese are claiming to be the second country with a GPS satellite beating the Europeans. The first country is USA. USA will not let them copy anything related to a gps satellite since the whole US military operates on GPS. So I doubt this GPS satellite can be compared to real GPS satellites since there is no one to copy from.

good viewpoint!

if Galillio is finished before Beidou, Beidou must be the copy of Galilleo.

If Beidou is finished before Beidou, Beidou must still be the copy of Galileo.

hahahaha

Man, I don't think so, electronic products are getting cheaper, maybe five years later even a 10 dollars toy embed a Glonass function, and a billion population country's infrastructure is also a huge market.
At least, Russia could get investment money from India. :)

Beidou is same as the mid air interception and Chinese moonwalk claims, both which are reported fakes and this too until proven otherwise.

Your this comment shows and proves that China still underestimate India. Can you tell me the base reason that why you think so. Do you think that the population of India and Russia are morons and beggers or you think that Beidou cant fail as the entire population of China play in millions.
