The government has decided to institute an inquiry into the reported presence of two militants, suspected to be from strife-torn autonomous Russian province of Chechnya, in the Kashmir Valley. Official sources said the Home Ministry has asked the Intelligence Bureau and other concerned agencies to look into the matter and report its findings. They said the inquiry was ordered following media reports that two militants from the Chechnya, identified only by their code names of Umar and Usman, were spotted from a photograph recovered by the Jammu and Kashmir police during a recent anti-militancy operation in Sopore, 52kms from Srinagar. The photograph had shown the alleged Chechen militants armed to teeth with latest assault rifles and other ammunition, sources said. They said more than 60 militants, mostly foreigners, are active in Sopore district of Baramulla in north Kashmir. http://news.outlookindia.com/item.aspx?703005 ----------------------- Any guesses what are these scumbags doing in our country? To me, this resembles a grand plan Soviet-Afghan style where radicals from Pakistan are inviting foreign Islamists to fight on their behalf alongside local terrorist organizations. Time to re-think that joint-counter terror exercise we had with Russia and to put it to real use. What do you say, guys?
