Will this be seen as contempt of the court? I see it as supreme arrogance by the Government of the day, when they feel that they can bypass the SC. Were it not for some official in the CBI who leaked it to the media, the Government would have gotten away.

However the big doubt arises whether the CBI just shared the report or was it altered by the political establishment.

Coal scam: CBI says report was shared with Law Minister Ashwani Kumar, PMO

The CBI has admitted to the Supreme Court that a version of the report on its coal investigation, submitted to judges last month, was seen in advance by Law Minister Ashwani Kumar, and bureaucrats in the Coal Ministry and the Prime Minister's Office. In a two-page affidavit, CBI chief Ranjit Sinha says the report was shared with these officials "as desired by them." (Read: Affidavit filed by CBI Director)

This goes to show that the CBI should be made free of the Govt, if indeed it is to do its task without fear or favour.

    Read with this:

The Supreme Court was earlier told by Additional Solicitor General Harin Rawal that the status report was not shown to the government before being filed in the apex court.

If so, Rawal has no business no continue and must resign his post. In addition he was made to lie and must file a contempt of court case.

But this govt, PM down, is thick skinned. ASG is no exception. In words of Shinde "Like Bofors this too will be forgotten, Hahaha."

This government has no shame in using CBI as its private investigating agency. In the past other government has also used CBI against the opposition but misusing it to such an extent has not been seen in the past.

All this proves that Anna Hazare's Bill is the only valid one and which should be passed post haste.

They are brazening out of this issue shamelessly. Lying to the public on tv channels with a straight face. UPA has completely destroyed the institutions of democracy - CBI, JPC, CVC etc.

    More problem for the Government.

Along with the affidavit CBI has also given the report to the SC where they have listed out paragraph by paragraph changes made in their report by the Law minister.

Hell is expected to break loose on the 30th.
