CBI: Andhra Pradesh is slow on Jagan’s probe | Deccan Chronicle
Hyderabad: The CBI on Tuesday accused the state government of not cooperating with the investigation into the illegal investments case of YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Senior counsel of Supreme Court Ashok Bhan, appearing for the CBI before Justice B. Seshasayana Reddy of the AP High Court, said, “We will not hesitate to say that the state government is not supporting the probe.”
He said that in one month the state government had been reminded 15 times for information, but there had been lukewarm response.
Bhan also said that the CBI had never given a time frame to the Supreme Court regarding completing investigation into the case. Headded that economic offences were never committed in a fit of rage; there was always a deep-rooted plan and conspiracy behind every economic offence and to probethe same a lot of time would be needed. It was thus premature for the petitioner toapply for bail when the probe was still pending.
    CBI delaying probe: Jagan’s lawyer
Referring to allegations that the CBI was biased, Senior counsel of Supreme Court Ashok Bhan, appearing for theCBI, said, “If we are biased wecould have been asked for the arrest of the petitioner in each of the cases registered against him.”
    S. Niranjan Reddy, counsel forthe Kadapa MP, meanwhile, argued that the CBI intended to further delay the probe by showing the “government’s non-cooperation” as a pretext. He said that the CBI had been giving misinterpretations of the apexcourt’s October 2012 order in Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s case.
He said that the Supreme Court had stated that the CBI would file the final charge sheet in the case as early as possible but not beyond 90 days and pointed out that the CBI had even given an undertaking that it would file the charge sheet in three months, but had failed to do so.
“How long would his client be kept in custody when the maximum punishment for the charges framed against him was seven years,” Mr Reddy asked.
The judge said that he would pronounce orders on Thursday on the maintainability of the plea.

The State Govt cannot act with alacrity since the Telengana issue is about to burst upon AP and the Congress will have to scurry around for friends.

Jagan would be a major input politically and even financially.

The brouhaha being done by CBI is orchestrated to remind Jagan Mohan that should he step out of line, things could get real serious for him!

Support through the threat of the CBI is the name of the game!

Ask Laloo (17 years gone by and he is roaming free as a bird munching the fodder), Mayawati (against FDI but for FDI since economy cannot brook communal colours) and Micky Mulayam (flip and the flip as the CBI case heat on weather vanes turn)!

CBI is being used in a calibrated manner to make Jagan support the Congress.

Troubled water,BJP should fish in rayalsema and north andhra. Don't focus too much on telguana, high competition there.

Jagan is newbie ,after father's loss and all the drama, he will feel alone and helpless. Local BJP leaders should give him hope and use emotional touch to woo him.

Jagan is a hopeless guy who wants to ride on sympathy of his father's death and vast amounts fo wealth he accumulated when YSR was Chief Minister. I would rather see him in prison. He is slowly losing the sympathy factor and the longer he stays in jail, the faster his party will go into oblivion.

I wish that is true - opinion polls seem to show soaring support for the robber baron prince due to sympathy for his imprisonment. His sister and mother campaigned and won all 17 AP assembly bye elections few talk about the ideal `Rajanna rajyam` as a time of plenty and prosperity for AP for the CM ship of YS Rajasekhara Reddy the father of Jagan. YSR while being a corrupt CM was charismatic and charming politician and gave many sops to rural folk for which people are grateful still. YSR is also supposed to hv engineered communal riots in Hyd with MIM to depose earlier CM. [any one from AP - pl correct if I am wrong!]. Story of India where innocent and emotional voters are taken for a ride by the powerful and corrupt!

I am guessing YSRC will win big time in AP Assembky polls and then ally with Congress in 2014 General elections with suitable guidance from CBI.
