Soviets did asked Indians to attack Pakistan in 1981 and open one more front to help them because Soviets were not able to handle the war on its own and during that time only , Israelis approached India to give them bases to attack Pakistani Nuclear sites . Soviets, Israelis were just working to drag Indians in the conflict and make the whole Sub continent to burn and start war of civilizations .

The link you have posted says nothing about Russia asking India to attack Pakistan and Israel asking India to provide bases to attack Pakistan. December 1, 1980 Brezhnev went on a four-day visit to India which was on the first anniversary of Soviet invasion of Afghanistan which was mainly to show the world that India recognize the invasion of Afghanistan and helping them politically and asked Indians to join with them against the America and Pakistan militarily .

And the link you posted earlier itself stated that though Pak had the design, It did not have the bomb for lack of sufficient enriched uranium and expertise. They got the bomb sometime in mid 90s.

After successfully destroying Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1981, Israelis planned a similar attack on Pakistan's nuclear facilities at Kahuta in collusion with India in the 1980s. Using satellite pictures and intelligence information, Israel reportedly built a full-scale mock-up of Kahuta facility in the Negev Desert where pilots of F-16 and F-15 squadrons practised mock attacks. There is a big diff in acquiring the design and having a nuke ready for use. Pak did not have this capability even in 1998. They imported these device from China to show it to Pakistanis. Pls read the last link that will tell you. pak was enriching uranium and they tested a plutonium device, How? Who gave them plutonium and the device? Pak started making plutonium only in 2004. I will also doubt the figure regarding nuke numbers as a large amount of Plutonim produced is required again to keep the plant running and all the processed Plutonium can't be diverted for nuke making.

@I-G, pls read the link below. It will clarify to you that you need part of bomb grade Pu to sustain reactor and so you can't divert all of the Pu for weapon manufacture.

Doesn't matter if Chinese give them the tech. The point is that they have the missiles to deliver the nuke and they are accurate enough to hit some india cities. Can you call that bluffing? I don't think so.



This message has been sent for decades and Pakistan's reponse is: we have the nuke and we will use it if we are cornered. Now, to me, it looks like that both sides understand each other very well. Of course, you can go ahead to prove your point by risking millions of indian's lives.

He has looked at the facts of Pakistan's never ending turmoil and how much time it will take them to put together the nukes to strike India where as you are defending by stating that they have nukes which the whole world knows and he has stated that time is of essence for Pakistan if the conflict breaks out. May be you can counter the writer's view point by presenting us with some facts on the time required to assemble such weapons and who is in advantageous state when it comes to launching the nuke attack. So let us hear from you a detailed analysis instead of two liners.

Chinese were completely behind the Pakistan and would have directly involve in the war against India in case of any attack on Pakistani Nuclear sites by Israelis . The decision took by PM Indira Gandhi was completely correct by not allowing bases to Israel .

Israelis were able to knock down Iraqi Nuclear reactor because the Iraqis were busy with Iranians. But before that Israeli attack , it was the Iranians who carried out attack on Iraqi reactor with assistance from Israel .

Israel nominee was there in India since 1980 and 3 times Israelis tried to convinced India to attack Pakistan Nuclear sites , that attack was going to take place in 1982.
