My condolences to Mulla @Zarvan and his family. This must be difficult time for him. First the news (rumour??) of his inspiration and beloved hero Zaid Hamid getting arrested by his beloved Saudis. And now death of his another favourite hero Hamid Gul sahab. But Allah knows better and he is only testing the faithfuls. Ameen.

Ghanta, the ISI mission against the USSR was entirely the work of gen. akthar abdur rahman, gul just took over the last bits and pieces. It seems you idiots don't even know which person to give the credit to, gen. rahman was ISI chief from '79-'87, almost the entire time the USSR was present in Afghanistan.

Gul had also retired by the time the ISI and PA intensified efforts in Kashmir. What Gul knew well was to take credit for other peoples work. Gul is nowhere near to the hero you people think he was, he was pals with the Taliban and Al-Qaeda leadership and bar some sympathizers, most in the army during Musharraf's tenure ignored him. He was loved by the TV channels and that was the only reason he got his fame , where he shamelessly took credit for the anti-Soviet operations, on a strategic level he was a big zero.
