The Army today successfully test fired an advanced version of 290 km range supersonic cruise missile BrahMos as part of a user trial at Pokhran test range in Rajasthan.

The missile was launched by a mobile autonomous launcher deployed in full configuration with mobile command post at the ranges.

"The launch was successful and the missile hit the designated target," Defence Spokesperson Col S D Goswami told PTI.

Senior Army officials witnessed the launch and congratulated the operational team for its successful launch.

Both the Army and Navy have already inducted the missile, developed by India in partnership with Russia.

I think it is more than 1300 km from Goa to Pokaran.. ??

Well it was certainly an Advanced Version....

I think they are testing software upgrades , along with some other things for the hypersonic version.

Avery good development for the NATION as a whole. This improves our protection from Chinese invasion of our territory....

I am still waiting for the day when our Mountain Corps are ready for induction in the north-east India......

Indian Army Successfully test fired a BrahMos Missile which according to DRDO officials got MajorSoftwareupgrade ,Missilewastestfiredfrom--Chandhan field firing range near Pokhran in Jaisalmer. Themissilehit a target approximately 55 km away on Ajasar area.
Advanced version of themissiledemolished the set target successfully and accomplished desired parameters .-"The launch has successfully validated the deep penetration capability of the supersonic cruisemissilesystem against hardened targets," an official said.The Army has already inducted themissilein its arsenal in two regiments, and preparing for third regiment this year.
