Didn't I say "ARMY LEVEL" commander?
During the war, any weapon that doesn't need the go ahead from your PRIME MINISTER, it is a tactical weapon.
Brahmos is not armed with nukes. It is a high value battlefield weapon and will be used in battlefield by army not on orders of PM

Anybody heard of Brahmos being tested during a thunderstorm?

If all tests happen only during summers, does it mean we don't expect to fire Brahmos in war during rainy season?

Chinese will not indulge in man to man fight as in 1962. Risks are too great for them. It will be a fight of 300 km missiles which they can fire at Indian post and set them on fire. The reply has to be similar missiles to set them on fire, istill better to set bases from where these missiles came on fire. Even Lhasa base is in range.

All we need is Brahmos and Prithvis with conventional warhead ready to fire. The battle will be over with whomsoever had an accurate missile ready for action. Brahmos will better do the job.

Using the missile which is worth millions dollars to attack an Indian or Chinese post? I am not if you are old enough to under the meaning of MONEY.

Even Lhasa base is in range.
Are you sure that you want Lhasa included in your target list? Have a look of India map and use the same range, see how many Indian cities and what Indian cities are within the range.

Actually, Brahmos is not a suitable weapon for mountain territory: higher than semi-sonic cruise missile, slower than any ballistic missile. And most importantly, too damn expensive. But I guess, India choose it because it is the only weapon she gets with necessary accuracy.

Not posts but to destroy your entire airforce bases and bridges....

New generation brahmos are especially developed for mountain warfare along the india tibbet borders .

Brahmos is not the only missile we have other options too.

If you can target Indian cities we will destroy Shanghai and Beijing. :daru::daru:

India defies missile-exporting China with cruise missile sale to Vietnam
Published August 15, 2017 SOURCE: WORLD TRIBUNE

India’s likely sale to Vietnam of a short-range, supersonic anti-ship missile will open up a new conflict in an already tense situation with China, an analyst said.Vietnam will receive the BrahMos which is considered one of the most effective and lethal anti-ship missiles in the world, with speeds reaching Mach 2.8 to 3.0. About half of China’s worldwide arms exports go to one country — Pakistan, for the primary reason of ‘containing India,’ ” said Hoover Institution Fellow and Geostrategy-Directcorrespondent Maochun Miles Yu in a Facebook post. “Now India is playing the same game by arming one of China’s arch enemies, Vietnam.” Russia, which co-produces the BrahMos with India, is said to have given its nod of approval on the sale. “The Chinese government has major objections about Vietnam getting these missiles for its navy,” said analyst Larkins Dsouza, founder of Defense Aviation.“China sees India selling BrahMos to Vietnam as an act of belligerence and interference in the South China Sea dispute.” But, Dsouza added, “China seems to be overlooking the fact that it sells a great deal of weapons to Pakistan, a country that has been in a gridlock with India for decades. All indications now point to the fact that New Delhi has overcome its reservations and fears about annoying China.” The BrahMos can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft or land. It was developed jointly by India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroeyenia. Vietnam is said to be looking to use the missile in its Kilo-class submarines. The missile is heavily based on the Russian P-800 Oniks cruise missile and other similar sea-skimming Russian cruise missile technology, Dsouza said. A hypersonic version of the missile, the BrahMos-II, is also currently under development with speeds up to Mach 7. It could be ready for testing some time this year, Dsouza said. Meanwhile, Japan and India “are set to strengthen security ties with the U.S., with the prospect of bolstering their trilateral security cooperation,” Dsouza said. “It is very significant for Japan, India and the U.S. to ensure the security of the vast Pacific and Indian Oceans. Japan has suggested that the three countries start organizing regular high-level meetings, and the Indian Defense Minister, Manohar Parrikar, will consider the proposal.”

This article names Manohar Parrikar. It must be an old article.

It is time for Manohar Parrikar to hand over Goa to someone else and take over Defence Ministry.

We need full time Defence Minister who is for indigenous maal. We cannot find a better person than Manohar Parrikar.

@NeXoft007 it was speculated that the rage of brahamos was greater than its official range of 290 km which was done to bypass MCTR . was that the truth? and secondly, the new ER Brahmos will replace all the current inventory through upgrades?

'ER' is just a fancy word added to Brahmos, Current Brahmos was always capable to cover 600km range. The actual Brahmos ER (Block V?) will have 900-1000km range.

Brahmos with Extended range was already tested twice..So you should judge by such quick testing the existing Brahmos had the fuel capacity to do the extended range from day one ..They just didn't made it public because of the MCTR rules ...
