Hardly a surprise. The earlier tender was cancelled precisely to allow Boeing to win the next time. Are we going to see Boeing being forced down the throat of IAF as well? If MMS has his way, it may as well be.

It was no surprise to me that Boeing got the contract. If EADS had got the contract, congress would cut the funding to the tanker project. We are not going to give a foreign company a contract that would eliminate over 100,000 American jobs.

Still you have the gall to rant about fairplay and free trade overseas. No wonder the general perception of the US government being run by a bunch of wanks.

We want "fair trade" not "free trade". There is a diffrence...The politicians would lose their seat if the contract was awarded to EADS. No politician would ever be able to justify giving a contract to a foreign company that would cause mass un-employment to American workers. It's just a fact of life in this economy.

Also, we can care less if the Indian government buys our tankers, transport or fighter aircraft. India is not important to us..

Don't flatter yerself..yer companies are busy wanking off at the prospect of selling all them Tankers, fighters et al. to us. Ask them the importance of MRCA, Tanker, C17, P8I, C130J and chopper tenders.

There was nothing surprising about the Boeing Selection! Politics won over the better product! Time for India to select Boeing than EADS for Tanker. This order will bring down the price of the Tanker, and the even more the development cost will be borne by the USAF

India is the primary piece , and the first line of defence in the future Pacific Theater. Also, you are in the wrong forum and also planet, if you think India is not important US or to the world.

Your companies supported by your government tells another story. US contractors were in full force in the recent Aero India. Before that Obama in India did quite a bit of lobbying. Sweeteners being thrown in about future prospect of India getting F-35s etc... I am sure a 126 fighter program which could well go up to 200 is far important than your shrug suggests. Plus P8s, C17s, C130s all adding up to 30 billion plus and hundreds of thousands of jobs,
