I am no fan of BJP. I am no fan of toxic nationalism.

But isn't this man's statement true on some level? Not only the congress but even regular Indians gave special treatment to foreigners rather than to fellow Indians. So why is everyone accusing the BJP man of racism? He didn't make a racist slur but simply pointed out how privileged whites are in India....how is this racism? Also how is this sexism?

It seems that people carelessly throw around words like racism, sexism without understanding the real meaning of these terms. Ashamed - not of BJP guy's statement but by the stupidity of my fellow Indians.

BJP's Giriraj Singh targets Sonia in 'informal' racist remark, regrets later

There you go on again, all half cocked, with your agenda of hating India.

Now, be a good man and compare this what he said:

Am I to understand that you feel Nigerians are not foreigners?

When did Nigeria accede to India?

You either don't know what a 'foreigner' means or you are so consumed in your hatred of India and Indians, you are losing sight of what you write.

You claim to be a Hindu and an Indian.

Now, who hurt you so much so that you hate India and Indians?

You don't have to nitpick - I meant white foreigners. Of course dark-skinned foreigners are going to be treated the same way that Indians are treated: badly.

I did hear the statement, and thee ar few things I can say
He does not mention Sonia with any sort of Racist slang, what the hell are you going to call a white? Being called white is not racist as I understand.

What he contemplated was that if Rajeev Gandhi had married a Nigerian would the Congress party would have still accepted her as a leader.
He does not call anything to Sonia, he merely questions the hypotheitical situation. WHAT IF.
So for this statement, Sonia has nothing to be upset about, but yes the Congress has to think, what if that would have happened?
Thus in a way he pointed that congress could be racist.

The minister has spoken the truth though it may be politically incorrect considering he is a union minister. But whatever he said no one can deny it was rubbish.

    It is not nitpicking.

It is merely to indicate that you are overwhelmed in your hatred to India and Indians that you close your mind and lambaste with knowing what you write, in what context you write and why you write.

Interesting thing about this episode is that NDTV diverted the discussion cleverly from journalistic ethics to a racist one.

Isn't it minimum journalistic ethics to not to make a story about off the record candour. The way I see it NDTV is digging themselves a big hole to fall into in the next couple of years. When they do fall from grace even arun Jaitley may not be able to help them out.

Interestingly but unsurprisingly those calling the minister "racist" are the very ones who mocked Modi by calling him a chaiwallah and that he'll be never accepted as a PM by RSS and BJP since he happens to be an OBC. Would be ironically funny, if not blatantly hypocritical on their part.

All that Giriraj Singh has done is put up a mirror in front of them (a mirror that is brutally honest) and called them out for the bigots they truly are.

Seems like MSM is facing acute shortage of real news or may be this is the new Jugad. I have not switched to news channels since past few days because whenever I do I feel like vomiting.
