indian society is in transition( i mean westernised) phase and situation with most of the youth happens to be not here nor there

arrival of nuclear family , alochol and increase consumption of porn where women is mean to be consumption with body part does not help youth in build year

lack of exposure in rural areas and fear of bahubalis happens to be another crucial case and sudden transition from rural to urban life doesn't help either

if we have catholic schools why not gurukuls

the only solution which is the case with israel which is mandatory millitary training of youth for short duration and female members in house to bring more sensitivity to youth

http://hi.hawkfeed.com/breaking-news-bengaluru-molestation-u-turn-case-well-planned/2/

The case of the alleged molestation of a 23-year-old woman+ in Nagawara, north Bengaluru, on Friday took a curious U-turn with the arrest of her 34-year old brother-in-law, who, police said, stage-managed the entire incident.

While the mainstream Media tried to project this whole case as if it was done by some Local Hindus, but the real story is extremely shocking.

The news and videos of abuse/rape/beating of women in India makes me feel disgusted, angry, sad and so disappointed that I don't even feel that my native motherland is inhabited by good men.
I feel so ouraged when Indians bragg about how great their culture is and every day there are shameful incidents esp in Delhi. I love India ..I was born there. It breaks my heart to see how India has become a land of corruption, bribery and developed into culture of brute force and rape.
Is this the land which believed "Yatra Naryante Pujyante Ramante Tatva devata" No...there are no gods anymore...just corrupt, dishonest, crooks and rapists ....a lot of them. Its scary to even visit India these days in spite of me being a man. Its sad....why can't Indians learn rule of law and respect for women ?
A country where women can not feel safe is a very primitive culture...lets face it.

These are false excuses to justify disgusting behavior. In western countries, women are much safer as there are consequences of abuse and rape...there is rule of law. Most men get caught and get punishment.
In India, rapists, corrupt, bad men go scott free especially if they are wealthy or connected to politicians and other powerful people. There is deficiency of rule of law. If there are consequences of criminal behavior, criminals will be afraid and crimes will go down. But, if your Police, IT officials, bankers, politicians all are corrupt
who can fix these problems ?

Hinduism supports the rights of sexual minorities. I remember reading about how Hinduism said that women should be empowered and righteous - and that men should respect the sanctity of women.

It's said that India has fallen so far since its pre-colonial days. We used to be able to build huge temples, schools, universities, hospitals, cities, naval ships, etc... that made India the center of the Asian world. We would have traders from the west begging to find trade routes to India in order to increase their prosperity.

We've fallen so far.

He's got a point. But I think what makes India unique is that a lot of these problems (homophobia, misogyny, corruption, etc...) were a result of colonialism rather than something to do with Hinduism - the main issue with Hinduism that westerners bring up is the "caste system", which in South India was technically no worse than modern-day classism in western countries.

I would love to see a progressive traditionalist movement that seeks to repel a lot of the colonialist mentality in India and turn India into a strong ethno-cultural force on the global stage. It's not as if Europe was the only region of the earth that's able to invent ideologies and have ideas.

"Vous le voyez, en France, on n'a pas de pétrole mais on a des idées !"
"You see, in France, we do not have oil but we have ideas!"
December 1973, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, Minister of Finance
And India is a bastion of both economic liberalism and economic socialism.

I am not saying all indian men are bad, criminals or rapist...I do not generalize. All I am saying is that a great civilization like India should be a nation where women can walk on streets at midnight without fear and Corrupt and criminals fear the laws of the land. I love India otherwise I wont be wasting time participating in this forum.
I want to see my native land free of corruption, bribery, "goondaraj" and casteism, regionalism, religious fanaticism and degradation of women.
By the way, I live in a great nation, called the United States where women do walk fearlessly at night...they carry pepper sprays or pistols to deal with criminal men....No nation is perfect...The U.S. is not perfect but still more law abiding...here criminals fear Police...and law.
I want to see my India where rule of law prevails and women and men live without fear of corrupts, criminals and courts have courage to punish law breakers. I pray for India each day and I know India has potential to be very very great society.

There alcohol plays its part too. In Finland Alcohol related crime is very high.
I know the discussion related to Alcohol is over but I just wanted to add my observation.
I think its more related to the binge drinking, as from statistics and reports it seems people binge drinking alcohol cause way more disruption and violence.
I dont think there is any actual way to decide and control a limit to drinking except self-restrain, but still I think people who drink can control themselves as long as they don't lose their rational thinking.

PS: One of my friend says that people in India binge drink because they have too much time and worries on their hands.
P.PS: Just to add, found this article today on Quora about Consumption of Alcohol in India with some interesting stats

"The report says that about 30% of India, just less than a third of the country’s population – consumed alcohol regularly (as of 2010). Some 11% are moderate to heavy drinkers."
