New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met the country's top military commanders for the first time at the Combined Commanders' conference where he stressed on the need for an atmosphere of peace and security essentials for the nation to achieve its goal of economic development.
Spelling out this vision regarding the role of the armed forces, Prime Minister stressed that in the future control of space may become as critical as that of land, air and sea.
PM stressed on the need for new thinking with regard to economic, diplomatic and security policies and also asked defence establishment to reform procurement processes and suggest corrective measures for avoiding delays in domestic development.
He also lauded the three military wings and said that India's Armed Forces, which represent the world's largest democracy, were second to none in professionalism, valour, commitment, service and duty......
