Be-42 (A-40) Albatros

This is a dedicated topic for Beriyev Be-42 (A-40) long range amphibious aircraft.
Please post all the related info there.

This project was closed in 2012 and renewed in 2016 to replace Il-38 and Be-12.
There must be 3 main modifications:
1 - Be-42PL - Long range anti-submarine warfare and maritime patrol aircraft;
2 - Be-42PS - Long range SAR aircraft;
3 - Be-42P - Heavy firefighter (closed in favour of Be-200ChS).

RuMOD has decided to renew Be-42 (A-40) project as long range submarine warfare aircraft armed with Kasatka anti-submarines avionics and weapons suit.
