We are kept away from facts and have been spoon-fed through our text-books and various media (electronic and paper) that only one family and one person was responsible for freedom of India.

The Japanese, who fought alongside some Indian nationalists, eventually lost 53,000 dead and missing in the battles. The British forces sustained 12,500 casualties at Imphal while the fighting at Kohima cost them another 4,000 casualties.

There are several memorials to the British and Indian troops who fought in the area, including one with an inscription that has become famous as the 'Kohima Epitaph'. It reads: "When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say, For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today'

It is the biggest tragedy we have faced post independence, how a particular political party shamelessly degrades other freedom fighters for political control over masses. That so called political party needed to be disbanded just after independence as once Gandhi Ji himself wanted.

The sacrifice of Azad Hind Fauj and help from Japanese will always be remembered...

Hmm... Can anyone corroborate this statement "....repel the Japanese invasion of India". Were the Japanese merely supporting Netaji or was an invasion/occupation on the agenda? @civfanatic?

This quite hilarious though, British trying to claim moral high ground when they themselves were invaders.
